We went on this tour because it was a grey day and had an hour to kill. The price is high, but free if you have the Stockholm card. The tour takes you around Djurgarden and Skeppsholmen with views of Grona Lund, Sodermalm and Gamla Stan. You also see the berths of cruise ships and merchant vessels (plus some military). Not terribly exciting, but comfortable and pleasant.

TIP: To get the best views, sit on the right side of the boat.

On our last morning in Stockholm we saw the very first moving boat on the canal. The canal had obviously thawed enough that this tourist attraction awoke from its Winter slumber. The sun was shining and the queue wasn't too bad so we decided to take the tour and enjoy Stockholm from a different vantage point and learn some of the history. It was a very expensive @ 160SEK each and lasted 50 minutes. The fact that some of the areas were still frozen and the boat could not enter was understandable but the fact that the areas they took us to had nothing significant to talk about was unacceptable. There were long periods of the tour that had no commentary even when we were passing 'things' worth commenting on. The most commentary related to the fact that their coffee shop was open ( grrrr) . The fact that the commentary is pre recorded in manta languages becomes a barrier, but advocate commentary would have been appreciated given most of the developed works speaks English.

I wouldn't do this trip again!
