Very good hotel with nice staffs. Walking distance to all main attractions. Good breakfast. Specious rooms. Free wifi. Easy to locate as it's the tallest building in Stockholm. However the surrounding is too crowded as it's located in the central railway station.

The room was small but very silent which I appreciated a lot. Furniture were less of the IKEA type than in other Swedish hotels that I know. Curtains were effective against the daylight which is very important at this time of the year. The bed was a bit soft for me but the pillows were good. Overall the quality of sleep was good. And the location is central. That’s about it for the positive side.
The staff is typically Swedish, meaning professional but not friendly. The loud music in the common parts and elevators is nice at 8pm, superfluous at 7 am.
Downsides: as mentioned by previews reviews, the restaurant and breakfast place were under reconstruction. Consequence is that breakfast was moved into some kind of a ball room 20 meters away from the lobby, this place was not designed for this purpose with the consequence that food was sometimes cold when dishes were not empty. In addition people were scheduled to breakfast according to their floor number and no breakfast was served before 7am… Obviously, when works will be over, the experience may be quite different, but during my stay, that was definitely a downside.
On my 3rd day, it was hard to notice whether cleaning had been done in my room.
Finally, the 8th floor bar has no interest: view is on the railway and road junction, food is mediocre, service non-existent, and prices high.

Dear eh_tonnant_voyageur,

Thank you for taking the time writing this review and feedback. Im glad to read that you had a good night sleep while staying with us. But im really sad to see your list with downsides, considering our temporary breakfast.. i hope you saw the possibilities with take away breakfast, we bought chairs, bags and blankets for our guests to enjoy the breakfast in the park or in in your room. I will inform the restaurant manager at the rooftop bar about your feedback. We don't want any of our guests to leave with that experience.

I really do hope that you'll give us another chance after this summer when the renovation is over and we can welcome you to a new breakfast area, lobby area and new bar and restaurant. All with focus on design and logistics.

Have a great summer and welcome back to us!

It's not terrible, but it's not great . . .

First the good. It's not expensive for a hotel that is central, newer, with some clean Swedish design elements throughout.

We had a room on the top floor (10th -specifically requested wood floors) and had a skyline/water view. The room and bathroom were of a decent size and spare modern design, so quite adequate - unless you want a cupboard that you can hang anything longer than a shirt in. It just had a half-height/ quarter-width wardrobe, but there are hooks on the wall to hang anything longer.

The location is close to shopping and restaurants, opposite a wee park and walking distance to a lot of attractions. It's very close to the Arlanda Express and the Central Station (which means the back side of the hotel is all train tracks).

Now the not so great, which encompasses the amenities, services, atmosphere and vibe.

What you may first encounter is that the hotel has more guest volume at the front desk than it is staffed (or has lobby room) to handle, and is overwhelmed as groups arrive, leading to lines at check-in and for the elevators. This also meant housekeeping could not always keep up, (but the ladies were very pleasant and apologetic that they had not been able to get to the room when I requested towels from the cart).

One other note re elevators: the hotel plays music in public areas, and different genres of music in each of four elevators, leading to a jarring audio experience upon entering and exiting elevators as the muzak clashes.

The pool is not family friendly - or conducive to swimming. The small heated rooftop pool (with a very cramped deck) was mostly occupied by couples, drinking, lounging and generally more of a romantic or party vibe than a place to swim. Also, hotel guests pay a fee each time they want to use the pool, which confusingly varies by day and even by time of day. Since I chose the hotel on the basis of access to a pool, that was a letdown - and it only opens at 8:30, making even a pre-breakfast swim an inconvenient option.

The hotel is undergoing some renovations, and the dedicated breakfast area was closed, so everyone was rerouted to a dim, windowless, cavernous conference space for the buffet. Also, breakfast times are allocated by floor, so all in all not a very flexible or pleasant way start to the day.

Perhaps due to the volume of guests versus service capacity issue, room service options are limited. A request for herbal tea, for instance, was not possible.

Bottom line, if you appreciate amenities or service, well-designed and maintained public spaces (breakfast room/pool/lobby), this may not be the right spot for you.

Dear guest,
Thank you for writing this very important review and feedback. As you wrote we are currently renovating some parts of the hotel. We are doing this because of the feedback we have received from our guests during the years. We want to create bigger and more pleasant public areas for our guests and that is why we are rebuilding areas like breakfast room and lobby. I am sorry that the pool was not up to your expectations and that you feel like you as a hotel guest should not pay for it. To be able to maintain the service that we want to achieve - we have to have a fee for the spa area.

I am happy to hear that you overall seem to have had a good stay and that you liked the room, the view and the location. We hope that you come back to us when the renovation is done, so that you can experience our new reception, restaurant, bar and breakfast area. Again thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback, it is very appreciated. Have a great rummer!

Very nice hotel, centrally located, good service and nice accomodation. Altough the breakfast room is being rebuild, a good alternative location was arranged and very extensive and good quality food was served at bteakfast.

My fault for not reading the fine print, but heads up the pool will cost an extra $25 per day. It was the entire reason we chose the hotel, but then couldn't justify the added expense. Overall, it was a huge let down.

Dear Hilary

Thank you for sharing your feedback here on TripAdvisor.
Yes, we charge an entrance fee to the spa. Our hotel guests have a 50% discount on the fee. For a guest of ours the price during the summer is:
Day (8.30 am – 2.30 pm): 195 SEK per person.
Evening (3.00 pm – 9.00 pm): 225 SEK per person.

I'm truly sorry this was unexpected and that you therefore decided not to visit the spa.
At the moment we do need to charge a fee in order to be able to provide with the services offered at the spa.
We collect all of the feedback we receive regarding this, for us to look into for the future.

Kind regards
Nadia Fagerdin
