We stayed for 4 days in this wonderful island of Amorgos at the perfect Aegialis Hotel and Spa. The hotel has a fantastic location overlooking the bay of Aegli and the Aegan Sea. As soon as we arrived, we were very pleased with the friendliness of all the staff, from receptionists, waiters, pool bar staff and their true sense of service and welcoming.

Our room was one of the executive rooms a bit further from the main building. Although the furniture and the decorum of the room was not 100% our style, it was very clean, practical and the room was large with a nice terrace and great view.

One of the key point of the hotel is it very big, warm and clean sea water pool. We've already been traveling a lot in the Cyclades Islands and it is the biggest pool I've ever seen. There is a pool bar, lounge chairs, tables and great staff bringing you fresh water every half hour. If you are hungry from swimming, you can get a "giant" pizza or a fresh Amorgian salad or other type of snacks
.
Another very nice feature of the hotel is the restaurant, which serves very nice Greek food with a little plus, a gastronome touch, with fresh ingredients from the hotel organic garden.

We also used the spa for a massage and a treatment, and here again, the staff was very nice, polite and friendly. The massage and the pedicure were very professionally executed. There is also a night club in the hotel, but as it was September it seems that the August party crowd had deserted the island so we enjoyed perfect quietness and since partying was not the goal of our trip, it did not really matter.

I can only recommend this hotel, as it is managed with a clear sense of service, staff is extremely friendly with guests, it is not over priced and it has a wonderful location.

We stayed in this hotel following a week in Folegandros at the Fata Morgana which was exceptional. So fresh from this "high" we thought the next leg of our trip - to Amorgos - would be difficult to get to the same standard.

We did not need to worry as we had a fantastic 7 nights at this exceptional hotel. The views were fantastic and the restaurant excellent with a wide and varied menu. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The pool was one of the major features of the Hotel and many a day was spent relaxing there listening to excellent music, drinking and eating pizzas from the pizza parlour that is alongside the pool. The level of service there was fantastic and as soon as you sat down a waitress came over with a couple of glasses of water.

An interesting experience with the pool (and indeed the sea) was the level of buoyancy. On all our trips around the Greek islands we have never experienced such buoyancy. For me, as someone who is not a strong swimmer, it was great. In fact it was slightly difficult to get your feet down to stand up in the pool.

The only niggle (which another English family had) was when we arrived we were put into a room which was clearly not what we had booked. We had paid extra to have a larger and more modern room (Superior) which this room was clearly not. However, the owner Irene did change our room the next day to give us what was ordered.

Also, be aware that the "trek" into the town / port area is quite exhausting due to the hill that the Hotel is on. So if you are like us, in our fifties, then a car is recommended which you can book through the hotel. I believe they run this car hire service themselves. In true Greek style the booking form has all the figures for things like excess and insurance sums etc. in Drachma (we are old enough to remember them!)

We will be going back some time in the future. We are curently trying to work out what other islands we can mix it with for a future holiday.

We were back again! The same friendly faces...all is the same, but also so different. In those years things changed and changed to make us feel more comfortable and unique.
Many Standrd rooms were renovated and became Superior, the most lovely rooms in the Hotel...my favorite...new addition by the pool: Nick's Pizza.
They are trying so hard to give us the best Holydays possible...and it is true...With the friendliness, the service the value of money they did what they promissed we felt like beeing home....See you next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I visited the Aegialis for 5 nights on our honeymoon in the summer of 2010. We could not have been happier with the hotel, restaurant and spa. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the service was amazing. My wife was thrilled with the service she received at the spa, I loved that the authentic Amorogian food severed at the restaurant. We visited four different locals in Greece, Amorgos was by far our favorite location, and the Agealis was without a doubt our favorite hotel. We would certainly return and would recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation with great food and service, set in an island paradise.

We just returned from a week at the Aegialis Hotel and Spa, and can't say enough great things about the hotel, the staff, the views, and the pool(s). We stayed in a family suite with our 2 children. We particularly enjoyed the live traditional Greek music one night at the hotel restaurant Ambrosia. Our girls loved the pool and we enjoyed the views from the pool. We have been to many very nice hotels in Greece but the Aegialis has gone to the top of our list of favorites.
