The hotel was originally built in 1887. The building was demolished and the facade was rebuilt in 1965. After that it served three decades as the headquarters of a bank. In 1999 it was opened again as a hotel.
The suites are located in the historical wing facing the Esplanade Park. The deluxe and executive rooms are in the newer wing.
We had booked a junior suite. They are all located on the upper floors with the views to the park. The suite was spacious, stylishly decorated and well equipped. Only thing missing was the coffee or tea making facilities, which is quite strange for a five star hotel.
The access to the Upper Lounge is included in the price of suites and executive rooms. There is a drink and snack service from 15:30 to 17:30. These rooms have also a complimentary breakfast which can be ordered to the room without an extra charge.More
