This basic hotel is located in Kaisaniemi, 300 meters from Central Railway Station and opposite the University of Helsinki Metro Station. Many tram lines are passing near the hotel.
There are two wings: old wing from 1907 and newer wing from 1957. Both buildings are in need of renovation. Especially the hallways are quite gloomy.
The reason for our stay was to see the Aino Kallas mini suite. She was a famous Finnish author who used to stay in the older wing. The hotel was called Hospiz at that time.
The suite had a beautiful decor with the Art Nouveau style. However, the bathroom was basic.
Because of the restaurant renovation, the breakfast was served in the hotel's banquet hall. The food selection was below the average at Finnish hotels but the banquet hall was beautiful.More
