This is excellent central location in downtown Helsinki close to all sights, restaurants and services.
Breakfast was one of the best I have had in Europe.
Rooms are good even though they are not very new.
This hotel has very nice view bar at the top floor which is worth of visiting for the view.

Room Tip: Top floors for good views

This hotel is ideally located for a Helsinki holiday. Very short walk to shopping and sights. The hotel kindly gave us a superior room instead of the standard we had booked. Travelled with a baby and everything was prepared for him. Good service at breakfast and good choices also vegan, dairy free and so on. The rooftop bar is worth a visit just to have a look at the views. Nice and polite staff. The room was not only cleaned but also tidied up nicely!
My only small complaints are about the small bathroom (shower was big though, which is good!) and the tv channels (Finnish only!). Would definetely stay again.

Although it is an older property, this hotel is absolutely loaded with charm - keyhole doors in the lobby, art in the hallways and a scary grilled elevator - before you even get to your room. The rooms are all different but there are three different styles - art deco, art nouveau (Jugend) and modern. I was in a Jugend style solo single and found it delightful. Although the room was small, the ceiling was very high making it seem larger than it was. The window opened on to the courtyard. There was a delightful attention to detail - art on the walls, the shape of the mirror, the leaf and acorn pattern on the wall - giving the impression that someone actually cared to provide a pleasant environment. It was absolutely not a rubber stamp hotel room. There were the advertised 3 pillows, hot water kettle and coffee/tea, a bathmat. The location is very good - close to restaurants, shopping and the train station.
The top floor bar, reached by an ankle-breaker spiral staircase, is pretty bare bones and utilitarian but the views were outstanding.
There was only one negative, also mentioned by another reviewer, and unfortunately it was a big one for me. After a long flight, a train ride from the airport and an uphill walk from the train station with my bags, I stood waiting to check in for over 20 minutes as the only person on duty at the front desk was occupied with a gentleman who was trying to straighten out his bill. And if I hadn’t finally interrupted, after hearing him ask and her answer the same question for the umpteenth time, I would be standing there still. If this had been a one time occurrence, I would have chalked it up to bad luck. However, every other time I needed to go to the reception desk, it was the same - several people waiting and only one person working. It is hard to believe that there isn’t someone who can step up in these instances and offer a little assistance. But If you enjoy art and architecture, and are up for something a little different, don’t miss this place.

I was in Finland to judge at a dog show and this hotel was booked by the club for me. As a solo traveller I don’t need a huge room - which is good as the room wasn’t big by any means but it had everything I needed. It was clean, modern and well equipped including an iron and ironing board! The bathroom was compact but again all you needed was there. I’d definitely recommend a stay. Located in the middle of the city it’s ideal for those wishing to explore further.

The bar itself on the top floor has a great view, but apart from that it is nothing special. The staff is not very attentive and it was very messy on the bar and the tables. It also seems very cramped and the interior is not nice or comfortable.
