“Welcoming, Relaxed Friendly Atmosphere with everything you need to enjoy your break”

Our family including myself, husband and 3 children aged 9,8 and 4 have recently spent a week here in the hidden corner of a fabulous French location. We were immediately greeted and treated as part of the family, nothing was too much trouble for our extremely welcoming friendly hosts.

The Gite we stayed in was over 2 levels and was extremely spacious, clean and had every amenity that we could think of. Outside of the Gite was a huge patio set perfect for us to enjoy a week of Alfresco dining in the French April sunny weather. It truly was a magical home away from home break but with the added bonus of glorious cloud free sunny days.

The views surrounding us were magnificent. We were surrounded by hidden public footpaths that intertwined within many glorious vineyards, providing a very scenic route to the local amenities including a children's park, the local village (where we found a wonderful boulangerie selling amazing french bread and pastries.)

Onsite we had use of a freshly cleaned large pool, a cafe serving english food that served up many english favourites and were mouth watering delicious. There is also a fully stocked shop carrying a wide variety of english products, as well as a particularly well stocked reading room perfect for the lazy sunny afternoons.

The new owners even though they are new to France had a wealth of local knowledge from quaint little market towns to historical sites and family tourist attractions, to aid our holiday.

We really couldn't have asked for a better location alongside a welcoming, relaxed and friendly atmosphere to enable us as a family to enjoy a week of quality time. We will definitely be returning and have already booked another break late in the year.

“Total relaxation in an idyllic setting”

The photos on various websites don't do this gite justice, It's so beautiful and has been decorated and maintained to a high standard. It is set about half a mile away from the town of Baignes in a small group of houses near alake. surrounded by vineyards and wheat fields. The pool area is the perfect place to relax in the sun. We spent many an afternoon and evening around the pool watching a bird feed her chicks nesting in a hole in the barn and the Honey Buzzards soaring overhead.
The local village has afew small shops, cafes and bars.Everywhere was so quiet, we hardly saw a soul! The supermarket is useful for self catering.
The hosts are very helpful if needed , but otherwise you wouldn't know they were there. They run a cafe onsite, but it is tucked away and doesn't detract from the tranquility. It is very handy for lunch, the food is excellent and good value.
A car is essential and there a plenty of places to visit in the local area, Auberttere sur Dronne being a highlight for us..
Don't come here if you want nightlife, shops and crowds of tourists. This holiday is all about peace, tranquility and immersing yourself in the beauty of french rural life!It is the first holiday I have been on where I can honestly say I wasn't ready to leave. We hope to return to this gite in the future.
