The cottage is located close to the airport, away from the town, and in a group of holiday like wooden summer houses. It took about 15 minutes to drive from there to Husavik.
The owner of the property has made a big effort to decorate it nicely, and has succeeded for the most part. Unfortunately, the main bedroom was very dirty and dusty. It looked like it had not been cleaned for months. There was a layer of dust on the window, and lots of dirt, fluff and hair on the floor around the bed. The bed was hard to move, as it just fits into the room. The bed was unmade, and we had to hunt around for clean sheets and towels. The listing shows a beautifully made up bed, and it should have been that way on our arrival, especially as we had paid extra for linen and cleaning.
The owner took months to reply to emails with questions, and i had to write to Bungalow to get them to ask the owner to reply to my emails. Communication with Bungalow was good, but as we needed critical information from the owner, it was very frustrating. We eventually did receive replies from the owner, but as we had already paid for the cottage, the lack of replies caused much concern.
The rest of the cottage was clean, but these issues really spoiled our enjoyment of the cottage.
