Outstanding. The service from the waitress Alison too was spot on. Be coming back soon.
Nice cosy atmosphere with warmth from the fire.

Basic food, good beer and friendly staff. Just a place for quick dinner after all day. Nothing fancy but ok

As part of a motorway services stop about 3 miles outside the centre of Canterbury, this hotel is only suited to those with a car, as bus services are a 20min walk away. Having said that, car parking is free, rooms are comfortable & the self-serve breakfast is adequate (limited cereal & scrambled egg/sausages, no bacon, no other egg options). Free in-room wifi, but of limited bandwidth.
Apart from it's remoteness, the only other drawback is the noise from the motorway. If you are a light sleeper, request a room at the rear of the hotel away from the motorway.
To get to Canterbury, we found the best option was to drive to Wincheap Park & Ride (about 30mins). £3 to leave your car there with return bus travel for all occupants - a bargain. Last bus 7.30pm though.

We recently stayed at the holiday inn express canterbury.
The hotel is on a main road very noisy no airconditioning no lift
Had to have window open at night so extremely noisy . Water temperature in shower ran from hot to cold, thin holey towel would not recommend this hotel to anyone 1/10
