Spent two nights here with my wife and ended up not venturing very far at all as the place was so cosy! Perfect for a winter getaway will definitely be back.

“Perfect!”
Reviewed November 1, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lee Penn which adjoins the owner's home, but is totally private, having its own entrance. The charming one-bedroom accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our week-long stay. It was also convenient for the numerous trips we took, including Traquair, Kailzie Gardens, New Lanark, Floors Castle and Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott. For grocery needs, there were good supermarkets nearby at the interesting old town of Peebles. The owners provided comprehensive information about local activities and sightseeing which was very much appreciated.

“Cosy retreat in gorgeous surroundings”

Cardrona is convenient for much of the Border area, and only 40 mins drove to the outskirts of Edinburgh. This opens up a huge variety of activities - I went for the historical places but only a mile up the road is a well-known cycling forest. The house was very quiet and everything worked well. The heating was so cosy I didn't feel the need to light the wood-burner. If I had though, there was lots of firewood available. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed October 1, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

What a wonderful cottage this was, well furnished with a comfy bed and a lovely bathroom and kitchen, the wood burner was an added bonus and added an extra level of coziness to the place. The cottage always felt warm and the size was perfect for a couple. I shall be whole heartedly recommending this place to family, friends and work colleagues. Access to Peebles was easy by car and taxis weren't too bad either. The owners were unobtrusive and left us to our own devices for the duration of the stay. For the price I cannot recommend this cottage enough. We will be looking to return in the future!
