Best of Gozo and Comino Full-Day Cruise Tour
Reviewed November 29, 2017 via mobile

We booked a day cruise with Captain Morgan Cruises via our hotel rep at a cost of €50 for two including hotel pick up. It was doubtful whether the cruise would go ahead because of rough seas but on the day we were collected as planned from our hotel in Golden Bay. On arrival we boarded what appeared to be a boat owned by a different company, Extreme. The boat ride was very challenging, the boat was pitching and rolling so much no-one could stand! On the way to Comino we were told about the "speed boat" trips to the caves in the Blue Lagoon. We were told how we would be able to look over the side and see fantastic things below us in the water. This was in addition to the "spectacular " caves that we would be entering. On the strength of this we bought two tickets at €15 each. How disappointed we were to see the boat, which appeared to be a normal water taxi. There was just about enough room to get everyone on board but with a roof overhead and plastic "windows" it was difficult to see anything. In 20 minutes it was all over and we felt we had been missold this with a totally false description of what we would see. With hindsight we could have taken a local bus from our hotel and then taken a ferry to Gozo from where we could probably have booked a better trip to Comino. A lesson learned!

We booked this via our rep but could have saved €20 if we booked directly with the company via one of their kiosks so worth doing it that way and get yourself to the Harbour if able.
Arrived to a very busy boat with sadly rude people not being prepared to move bags or seats to allow everyone to sit down next to each other or even opposite, with no direction or assistance from Staff to oversee any of this issue.
Boat is very basic, seen better days but worked and felt safe so guess that's the main point.
Drinks on offer were "ok" but be warned for at least one person to be sick in the toilets (which are very basic) either with seasickness or too much alcohol.....
Food was not that great, reflection on the overall price, cheap....
Blue Lagoon was awful in my eyes, over crowded. Could see it was beautiful however too many peoples to see the true beauty BUT we didn't follow the crowds in turning right, we went left, walked about a kilometre and found a pretty, quite bay to spend an hour or so it away from the masses.
If mobility is limited, you wouldn't be able to leave the boat as where it is moored the only way to the "land" is by steep, narrow steps, not great for those with mobility issues, very young children or larger than life people.
I know I'm not "selling" this experience, but it is worth to do, once, even if it's to use the time to sit and watch the World go by or people watch....
Ideal way to see the island from the sea but that's about it....

We arrived to Malta on a cruise ship and we knew we wanted to take a harbor cruise tour. We took a ferry from Malta to Sliema (5 minute ride) and the ferry dropped us off right where all the cruise concession stands are. We got there about 930am, and the first cruise wasn't until 1030am. We asked one of the sales girls about the cruise which advertised for 16 Euro. To keep us from walking away, the sales girl offered us the tour for 10 Euros each. It was a good deal so we took it. The boat was large (2 decks) and crowded, but we were comfortable. We sat on the starboard side, which is better than the port side, since the cruise circles the harbor in a counterclockwise direction, so the starboard side is always facing toward the sites. It was for 1 and a half hours, which is just about the right amount of time to spend on the harbor. Got some great views of the city and forts. Overall - a very nice cruise.
