After discovering this gem nine months ago by accident , we were happy to try it again for its' wonderful food, location and a real friendly service at sensible prices.
Located just behind the church, our group of four first came here nine months ago after getting slightly lost touring the area. The Owners remembered us well from our last visit.
We ordered Stifado, Kleftico and Afelia dishes . An excellent large salad accompanied the meal with some dips like tzatziki and humorous.
The quantities of very fresh food with real Cyprus potatoes, genuine Cypriot cooking were as consistent as our last visit. The quality and speed of service very reasonable .
Overall the food was enjoyed by all together with a very nice red house wine. We were given Honey ball sweet for desert on the house, again a delightful dish and quite a generous quantity to finish off, but we were rather full so ended up taking 90% of it home.
A number of locals were also eating here , a good sign of the quality of food being served.
Makaii who did virtually all the cooking could not be faulted for the food served
Overall, a highly recommended taverna if one wants real Cypriot food at very affordable prices, generous portions and very friendly service.
Makes the overpriced touristy "Cypriot" food in many areas of Paphos look very poor value for money.

We arrived at our hotel in Lasa late afternoon to discover that they don't do dinner. We had been busy geocaching all day and were very hungry so we got into our car and started driving around in the hope of finding a restaurant. After a 5 minute drive we found Phiti town square and the wonderful welcoming Maria and her staff. We soon had a drink in front of us and the food arrived soon after. Had we not been so tired we would happily have sat here until late in the evening.

After visiting the weaving exhibition next door what more could you ask for then a splendid sandwich and chips with cold drinks and excellent Cyprus coffee? In the hills above Paphos this village of Phiti (one variation on the many spellings of the name) is noticeably cooler than down on the coast. This is assisted by the taverna being splendidly shaded by trees. The menu is small but the sandwiches are anything but! Haloumi and louanta which I had to bag half and take home for breakfast the next day........ A great welcome by the owner Christodoulos which reminded me of our Greek visits in the early 1970's.....terrific memories.....I shall certainly return next year.

No menu, just great local food.
6 of went on a Sunday lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy - so a very good sign.

The menu included unlimited amounts of wine - so the meal just got better and better...
On a serious note - this was a very enjoyable lunch with mountains of good food.

Go try it and you will see!
