errr, are we all reviewing the same hotel?! We stayed as a family of 4, (well parents son and best mate 16/17) similar dates to those below and we simply loved the 11 nights we stayed. I found no room for complaint at all. This is currently a 3* star hotel but you would struggle to find any better in it's class.

The rooms are bright, well cooled and spotlessly clean. Cleaned daily and towels often folded into animals. Confronted with an elephant on our final day! Very impressive haha Very large double beds and comfy.

Food - always something on the extensive menus and we found the quality to be very good. With the various themed nights, there was little repetition. As I say, something to suit everyone at every meal and a never ending supply of chips as a real last resort if needed! Never much in the way of queues, other than Sun carvery - very popular but never run out, fresh supplies are never far away!. For dinner you are seated by a staff member and waitress-served for drinks. Breakfast and lunch, more sort yourself. The restaurant is very clean and incredibly efficient. A team of staff are relentlessly clearing away, tidying up, resetting tables and any spillage or mishap is sorted quickly and quietly,

Pool - both pools very clean and well maintained. Front pool for the action and animation team led by the legendary Zoeyy and a quieter pool at the back if preferred.

Staff - all very friendly and helpful. All speak English very well and able to hold conversation. Certainly better than my Greek!

We had booked a double and a twin room but checking in we actually had 2 doubles. As we were late evening arrivals, it was too late to address for that night, However, Reception provided the boys with some separate bedding for the night and by the following morning, the room was all made up as a twin. No hassle. The problems can happen anywhere, the quality is in the response. We also arrived too late that night for the restaurant and AI timings but a snack platter was waiting in the room and vouchers for free drinks given to get us by before bed. Not expected and a nice touch!

The entertainment was good. Kids Mini Disco, music and Bingo 8.30-10pm and various cabaret acts (singing/dancing/karaoke) from 10-11pm

Special mentions to Michelle on reception. Really friendly and very helpful, Zoeyy (no words), Tania, Chrysanthemum and Konstantinos in the evening waiting team, who must walk miles per night but always smiling, got to know us and our orders each evening!

Thanks to Christos too, he runs a very tight ship here and is obvious around the hotel. I took the time to speak to him and there is an overriding, genuine aim to ensure customer satisfaction - even shown on here with his personal replies. I fail to understand how anyone that may have needed to raise any concern to him during their stay in the hotel, could come away with the matter unresolved, needing to 'moan' on the reviews.

We have been home 2 evenings and miss it all. We would definitely come back. Thank you to all for a lovely holiday :)

Stayed at Smartline Paphos with my family for 2 weeks in July and had an incredible time. The hotel is in a quiet location with everything to do in walking distance. Rooms and the rest of the hotel were always kept clean. We had a problem with the rooms upon arrival as we came as a family of 4 with 2 rooms but were separated and had rooms no where near each other. After complaining about this the hotel staff informed us that there was no other available rooms and we had to wait 2 nights until we were put in rooms which had one room in between them - not ideal but wasn't too much of a problem. The pools were always kept clean and there is plenty of sun beds and umbrellas for everyone. There is working wifi in the Lobby which we used and was reasonably fast and also wifi which you can pay for to have in your rooms but we didn't feel the need to do that. The reception staff were always helpful with enquiries and the hotel rep Ollie was always friendly and easy to talk to. The food was great, plenty to offer for even the fussiest of eaters. Only problem with the food was that food for vegetarians is very repetitive - pasta almost every meal. No problems with drinks and bar staff are very polite, constantly coming around the tables in the evenings to take orders and service was always fast. The animation team were absolutely incredible, Zoey, Jay, Shaun, Dowie, Joe and Jolie are all fantastic at their jobs and made our holiday so funtastic! All great guys that became great friends! There was always something going on within the hotel during the day and the entertainment in the evening was always great to watch! Had a great time at this hotel and would definitely recommend it!

Dear Guests,

I thank you very much for your review. One correction firstly, you did not complain to the reception for the rooms not being adjacent. You informed us you want the rooms adjacent. For us this is not a complain. We are very grateful you came forward and told us your wish, as this is giving us a chance to please you. I wish every guest did it like you. As far as vegetarian and other dietary needs, I always advice to speak with our chef. He is more than happy to cook even to order. We are very happy you enjoyed your holiday with us and hope to welcome you again.

First impressions of hotel...
Small looking from outside however is pretty big inside, very clean everywhere.
On arrival were greeted by a very friendly chap who went through everything told us room number, times of all inclusive we had etc had all the info we needed.

Had a slight problem when we went to the room that our balcony door wouldnt lock at all but mentioned it and literally within half hour we went back to the room and it had already been fixed so very fast and brilliant service to get it done faster than expected thank you so much.

Room

Rooms again very clean although i did feel the floor could have done with an occasional mop as when we got out the shower our feet got filthy again.
as far as the beds are concerned it was a very big double bed but we did actually book a twin room and was told by travel agents it would be definate twin beds as i went with my friend and we didnt wish to sleep together. has this been two lads sharing im sure there would have been more complaining however, the fact it was huge enough you could actually fit another person in the middle it didnt bother us too much.
We had a view overlooking a roof and the distance, not brilliant view but certainly not the worst and was lovely to sit out on to catch some sun. rooms cleaned every day other than sunday i think, was always spotless once cleaned, even tidied and folded our pjs if we didn't have chance in morning and rushed out, nice touch.
Just a little advice though, once cleaning service had been and we went back to the room it would be nice if they locked balcony door once finished as every day we went back in afternoon the door was actually left not just unlocked but partially open, not sure if intentional or not but felt a bit unsafe if our valuables are in the room and door is open.
There is a fridge in rooms also for use if need be :)
Air con is best air con ive ever had in ANY hotels abroad, very powerful and well needed.

Pool

Pool is very clean, spotless actually. no litter anywhere, New sunbeds all around - one i sat on even still had the plastic wrap on the bars at bottom so were obviously bought recently and was loads of them. was hard to get a sunbed in middle of the day and when we went down maybe around 1pmish there were a few sunbeds with towels on them so couldnt sit on any so sat on chairs by bar instead but come 4pm there was the same towels on sunbeds that no one had even used so it got a little annoying if we wanted a bed but we made do with the chairs instead.
Pool lovely temprature, very refreshing without being actuallly cold.
had water polo and other activities go on too which was great in main pool. i didnt take part but watched, looked like a lot of fun although i will say that the water polo went on for way to long. we watched it for a hour and a half one day as both teams kept being even with points etc but found that too long to even watch and could tell some people were getting annoyed as were same people either side of pool kept gettng the ball tossed to them and kept landing on them when one woman was trying to read and another couple were sunbathing. the ball hit one lady in the head. cant count how many times the ball must have hit the same people. for some it may have been very irritating although we were a same distance away to just watch.

Didnt use the mayfair pool. had a look and still looked clean and a lot quieter but preferred main pool, bit more of an atmosphere

Pool bar amazing, loads of drinks included in all inclusive including soft drinks, beer, wine, aand even a great selection of 6 cocktails too with woo woo and sex on the beach being two of them, even had non alcoholic cocktails for the kids which was great.two drinks per person was allowed at a time but we found that plenty. Pool bar also served snacks too in day time as well as a ice cream truck which was great in the hot weather.

Restaurant

Breakfast was good selection to eat. Proper sausage rather than hot dogs would have made it amazing though. cant beat a proper richmond or similar sausage with a cooked breakfast. i did learn near end of trip not to get food from bottom of stack of bacon, egg, mushrooms etc like others were doing thinking it was the hottest and freshest at bottom as when they were only half empty they just came and put everything else on top so god knows how long some food sat at bottom for during breakfast. Bread was amazingly fresh though, fresh fruit served too.

Dinner was my faviourate you couldnt fault it at all, a different theme night every night, My faviourate was carvery night (selection of pork, beef or turkey, ar all 3 if wanted) properly carved in front of you. and also bbq night too, burgers were fantastic. Also had other theme nights like greek night and international night and cyprus night. you could always find something and was very nice too. Beef in diane sauce one night yum.

One little niggle in restaurant is that the restaurant manager think was called griknos (sorry if ive spelt wrong) was shouting very openly at his waitress for very minor thing as she was carrying too many plates for his liking and she proper got shouted at in front of everyone, there was no need for it. heard on a few reviews the same man has been mentioned for shouting too.

location

location not bad at all, some reviews mention its by loads of closed down shops etc and run down,
we didnt find this at all. there were couple closed down however your going to get that anywhere but not loads at all. Great location i think as long as your not wishing to go to the beach every single day.
Kings avenue mall was literally a 5 minute walk away which was very nice, air conditioned, has a food court in it and a supermarket which we often used to buy some cans of pop to keep in fridge at hotel room.

Harbour is only a 15-20 min walk, completely straight walk opposite from the mall down to the harbour, very easy to find cant go wrong. lovely harbour too it was, very clean.

Entertainment.

Entertainment was good, had a kids disco every night but wednesday, bingo, music quiz some nights which got everyone involved. there were singers and dancers although dancers are mainly aimed i think at men due to the outfits they wear, very very skimpy. sometimes the dancers got very samey though and after a couple of nights we got little bored.
Animation team was brilliant, so friendly to everyone and you could tell they all work so hard at there jobs not one frown.

Will say one thing though is that there was so many kids running around the pool at night i felt one would fall in or fall over etc and lads were diving in it very close to the edge, only a matter of time before one has a serious accident and no one was telling them not even their parents.. also toddlers left to own devices on stage, a 2/3yr old little girl was on stage and twice almost fell head 1st off it.
One little girl actually snapped her arm and had to go hospital, not sure how she did it but could see the break in her arm. not sure if she had been running around and fell but was really bad. they sorted the family a ride to the hospital quickly though so was good that was sorted fast but perhaps to stop future accidednts it could be a little more organised at night with kids running everywhere especially by pool. i kept watching them more than their parents im sure as was worried a kid would fall in or crack their head open.

overall i would say though even with a few minor niggles just bit of constructive criticism really that its a very good 3* hotel. much better than other 3*s ive stayed at before, foods better, cleaner, nicer pool etc. I would come to this hotel again if i came back to cyprus for definate. good value for what you get too. i think its very good.

Thank you for such a great amazing holiday.

Dear Guests,

we would like to thank you for nice review. All your comments have been noted and I will personally look into them. Af as balcony doors are concerned, the maids keep the balcony doors on high floors slightly open, as many guests leave the Air Condition open 24 hours a day. This creates condensation in the room, so we need to let fresh air in the room. We really thank you for your feedback as constructive criticism will help us improve. I do also try to motivate guests to give us constructive criticism during their stay as it helps more talking face to face. For all future guests, please come forward and give us feedback. Every hotel needs it. We are also very happy you have enjoyed your stay with us and hope to welcome you again in the future.

I wish I knew where to start, but there are so many things I have to say about this hotel.

If you want to be fed three days agos left overs and get food poisoning, go here

Sunbeds are virtually impossible to get as if you wake up early and put towels down then they'll probably end up getting moved and shoved on the floor and taken by someone else. We went to breakfast one day and all our stuff (including my bag) had been shoved in the corner.

On the third day I had to be taken to hospital due to horrendous food poisoning, when I brought it up with the receptionist he didn't have anything to offer for it, no apology. Didn't seem remotely bothered id spent days curled in bed unable to even move.

I'm seeing reviews that the food is "great"??? But for us it was absolutely awful and was being served leftovers all the time and food was 90% of the time cold. Also stop feeding the same snacks all the time, fish croquets and beans everyday gets boring.

Pool is clean, sunbeds are a nightmare though as explained above. Staff should probably make the effort to smile a bit more.

Only thing I have good to say is the animation team, they are absolutely great and work so hard everyday to make everyone smile. Great with the kids and also with the adults. The entertainment at night is also good.

Rooms aren't as described on photos, although we weren't particularly bothered as we didn't spend much time in the rooms.

Taxi rides are cheap, we met an amazing taxi driver who went to all lengths to make sure we were ok. Mayfair Taxis, ask for Chris. Great guy.

We found 2 great bars called The Waterhole (Bar St) and The Wooden Pub at The Harbour. We recommend them. Walk isn't too long to the harbour, there are shorter ways and longer ways.

The location is a bit odd, really run down.

All I have to say, it was bearable but we won't be coming back. Spend your money elsewhere.

Dear Guests,

I am really sorry you feel that way, but I need to say, your review is far from real. It is impossible to work only with leftovers of 3 days as you claim. You mean we cook the food and leave 3 days in the fridge and then serve it? Makes no sense. The previous reviews contradict what you state. Stating you had a food poising and reported to reception and they did nothing? When a customer sneezes I get informed immediately and such a big case, we do nothing? I would like to see the doctors diagnostics and what they state, as if there was the case as you claim the doctor would have informed us immediately. We never had any food poising in our hotel, we do follow HACCP and we have regular checks from the health authorities and the tour operators. Additionally we make our own Lab Tests. I would be very careful with such accusations.

We stayed at Smartline for 7 nights and had a great time! The hotel has recently been refurbished; the rooms were modern and fresh, and the communal areas were kept very clean. The pool area was great, with lots of sun loungers and a shaded bar area serving food and (incredibly strong) drinks. The entertainment team were fantastic, and ran activities such as aqua gym and water polo during the day, and kept kids occupied with a mini disco in the evening. The late night entertainment was amusing (Lady Gaga tribute band, Greek dancing night with audience participation, cabaret-style dancers), although possibly not to everyone's taste! The food was varied, with a large buffet breakfast every day, and themed nights for dinner (Asian, BBQ, Cypriot etc.) - the food was decent for an all inclusive, although nothing to really shout about!
Other than the location (not really close to a beach), my only complaint about the stay was that the walls of the hotel rooms were paper thin, and we were awoken every morning by a blaring TV and arguing next door! However, this didn't impact us too much, and overall we had a fantastic stay! Would definitely recommend for couples and young families!
