21.07.2012 - 28.07.2012. All Inclusive. I stayed at the Louis Imperial with my partner Ben for a one week break as a treat for my birthday. We'd had the hotel recommended and we were not disappointed. Arriving at 11pm we were greeted with a smile, a helpful receptionist and a drink of fresh orange juice.
The Hotel Room: Our room was perfect, albeit tired looking, the shower did its job, a hairdryer is available but took ages to dry hair apparently, I took a travel dryer so didnt use ours. the fridge worked and was stocked daily, and tea/coffee making facilities in the room were restocked daily. Towels changed daily. Good air conditioning which as you read further into this review becomes a godsend. Our room overlooked the pool and the sea so we had lovely views.
The Hotel: Clean, Some areas of which were tired looking but hey so am I at times. Friendly staff and that is all members of staff we met, either in passing or to handle a query, they always had time for us. The hotel has an out door pool its deepest point being about 1.2 metres deep approximately, this is ideal for all age groups as plenty of water games, aqua gym and play takes place in the pool and therefore occurs safely. We did note the water in this pool did become very warm as the day went on, by late afternoon it was as warm as a bath. Not refreshing given how hot the weather was. Not too worry tho, the hotel also has a decent sized indoor pool (Adults only) well shaded and the water remains cool throughout the day, In with the indoor pool is a lovely jacuzzi.
The hotel has the pool area with an abundance of sun loungers with mattresses and parasols. Stay at this hotel and forget about getting up at silly o'clock to 'claim' your sunbeds.. there must be a bed available to every guest! Fair enough, if you want one by the pool these may go first but even then, you don't need to be down early. We went down to the pool between 8-9am, beds were still available throughout the day. sun loungers are available by the pool, and the lush grassed garden areas around the hotel, ideal for adults/families wanting to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere away from the games and noise of the pool. Sun loungers are also available to guests on the private small beach accessed by a path down onto gritty sand, a small inlay/cove of sea water surrounded by rocks is lovely to bathe in, but sea shoes are recommended as it is quite stoney. the usual showers are available to rinse off in on your return to the hotel. Towels for the beds are available at reception for a deposit of 10 euros per person and they happlily exchange these for you every other day so dont waste luggage space bringing your own!! The deposit is refunded at check out. Our towels blew off our balcony one night, we informed reception the next morning, not a problem, just handed two fresh towels, a maintainance man later accessed the roof they had blew on to and retrieved them. The pool also has a selection of lilos, inflatables, balls etc, not sure if collected by staff when left by guests but a good idea to keep them for guests to use throughout the day.
Bar staff/Waiters: Lovely, friendly, hard working people, speaking excellent English... the sun was hot hot hot and still they walked the hotel grounds, bringing drinks, collecting empties, they even provided ice cold face towels during the hottest part of the day which were heaven. Akis and Cosmos were very friendly, polite, cheerful, hardworking waiters who deserve a special mention. The same staff would serve with the same friendly attitude during the evening. Having banter with you as they get to know you. Drinks during the day are served in unbreakable plastic half glasses, at night you get a pint in a glass. A PINT on an AI, there was no limit to the number of drinks wanted at any one time.
Food: Can't fault it. Nothing negative to say. Food is hot when it is meant to be, cold when it is meant to be. Food is well cooked and tastes devine. Tip: book on the A la carte evening, you wont be disappointed, (included in the AI option).
The restaurant offered a different theme each night, i.e. italian, chinese, international, we only stayed one week so I am guessing they are repeated weekly. Breakfast is the usual variety of international cuisine as is lunch so plenty to choose from; if you love sushi, they have small snack sized portions on the odd lunch time so look out for them, they are lovely. Being AI we had snacks available which to be honest I never used. Ben had ice cream the odd day, but I was full from mealtimes. Crusty breaded sandwiches are kept cool and fresh.
One negative point regarding the hotel was the quality of the air conditioning, although very effective in our own room, in the public areas of the hotel it was poor. We did become very uncomfortable, sweating during mealtimes. Apparently, the hotel is to undergo some level of refurbishment later this year and we were informed the air con is to be a part of the refurb. In the meantime, purchase a cheap hand held fan for some relief. It probably felt worse for us given the time of year we travelled, temperatures were no different day and night, it may be this gets better when outside temperatures become cooler,
Entertainment: Where to start? Daytime:- Begins at 10am until 12 noon. then 3 - 5pm. During these times the animation team work their socks off, chatting to guests and encouraging participation in the activities without being pushy. The animation team, Curly Sue, Ashleine (Ashley), Ellie, George, Andre and Valentino are great. the three girls are English and the lads speak good English. All are approachable and will sit to chat as they go around the pool area notifying you of the days acitivities, Activities are many examples are darts, french boules, archery, shuffle board, aqua gym, zumba, music quiz.. most taking place twice daily, with pool games at the end of the morning session. If you do not want to participate, no pressure.
Evening entertainment includes kids club, bingo, fun games, and a main show starring the animation team. Occasional audience participation is required. On their night off a singer came in but I wasnt impressed, not many guests stayed during her performance. overall, we enjoyed the entertainment, day and night, participating in the daily activities me in aqua gym and Ben winning diplomas in french boules and the music quiz. we also took part in the evening entertainment me with the fire eating act and Ben played a great Louis Walsh in XFactor night.
Location: Some bars, restaurants and shops are in walking distance. Apparently you can walk to Paphos harbour but it was far too hot even on an evening so we went by taxi, very busy with bars, restaurants and shops. A local bus goes there for 1 euro.
A lengthy review; but detail is everything to give a true picture. In summary incase you scrolled through; yes, we would go again and are looking to book another week later this year, we met lovely, friendly fellow guests including a couple of lovely families from Barnsley and Leeds who we spent time with by the pool and on an evening, Food great, room clean and comfortable. Only reason it didnt get 5 out of 5 from us was because of the poor quality of the air conditioning. don't be put off though, we would recommend this hotel to anyone. Best all inclusive we've had. I have also posted a few photos.

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor, Ideal because you do not need to use the lift which can get quite busy at times. Our room number sat within 140 to 155 and overlooked the pool and sea, one family e-mailed the hotel to request a particular room and was given it, if this view appeals to you.

I stayed for a week at this hotel from 19th of July this year. It has a really kind staff and nice animation team. What I liked most was the food - impressive for an all inclusive hotel. There was a large variety, really delicious things, sea food, choice of fruit, salads and desserts. There is a very nice and warm pool outside, also a colder one inside if you need to refresh. The sand beach is small, so the best choice is to use a sunbed in the grass area - same distance to the sea and the pool. There are rocks in the sea, so take sea shoes with you.
The hotel has also a good location - 15 minute walk to the harbour where most of the shops and restaurants are. There is a bus station close to the hotel where you can catch a bus to the old town.
All in all, a great place to stay in Paphos, I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Ask for sea-view room, it's worth it!

Our holiday was from 18th july to the 25th july.We payed for a mountain view room but got given a sea view at no extra cost which was fantastic. We had great views of the pool and beach and didn't have any problems with any noise. The location of the hotel is brilliant. We stayed in a family room as there were three of us so we were a little disappointed that there were two cups and two glasses etc.Quite trivial i know but when you are paying per person it seemed quite obvious that we would need three. The bed was very hard the first night so we couldn't sleep. We asked for a mattress topper and got given two dirty mattresses that looked like they had come off some old sofa's,but we were just glad of a bit of extra comfort. The bathroom door lock broke while i was in there so i had to wait for someone to come and unlock it.A new lock was placed the next day.The rooms do need updating as a lot of people are suggesting.I do think this is going to be a major task as it is such a big hotel.I would like to say though that the dining rooms and bar etc looked lovely and the cleaning staff work very hard.Breakfast was great with lots of choice and the pool was fantastic with lots of sun beds and parasols.I would definitely go back if the hotel rooms are refurnished to a good standard if not then i wouldn't.

We stayed 2 weeks at Louis Imperial Paphos, on arrival we received a warm welcome from reception. The rooms are fine and the air conditioning kept the room cool. We were all inclusive and the mini fridge was refilled daily, with tea/coffee making facilities there if preferred. The maid left us towels made into animals on our beds and chocolates on our pillows. The rooms were cleaned every day and they did very good job as room was spotless. All staff were friendly and helpful. During our stay it was my daughters birthday, they sang happy birthday as they carried in a lovely chocolate cake and torch into the restaurant in the evening- a lovely touch. The entertainments team was excellent and tried hard to ensure everyone was included. Whilst sitting around the pool with beach towels included, plenty of sunbeds and parasols (enough for everyone), the waiters came round the pool in the afternoons with cold towels, water melon and took your drinks orders. The indoor pool was great for adult swimming and was a great place to cool down after being out in the sun.I am looking forward to going again next year.

Room Tip: Low floor and request a non smoking room

We had visited this hotel previously and due to our fantastic holiday we returned with our parents this year. Upon arrival our parents were suitably impressed with the service of the staff and the upkeep of the hotel.
Throughout our stay all members of staff were extremely attentive and friendly with nothing being too much trouble for them. Throughout the day we were frequently asked if we would like drinks with a waiter service provided, this was a nice touch and very much appreciated. On several occasions we ordered drinks but because we were unable to carry them waiters offered to bring them to us even when on the beach.
Whilst the entertainment team had changed since our last visit we recognised the hard work and time they put in to ensure guests had an enjoyable and if wanted active holiday. However, the new staff who joined during our stay we equally as friendly and worked tirelessly to get people involved in the variety of activities available. Once again personal touches such as the entertainers stopping to talk to you created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Finally, our parents and ourselves were very impressed with the vast selection of food which was always kept hot and replenished frequently. All areas of the hotel were clean, fresh and maintained to a high standard.
In our opinion a must visit hotel due to the great location, friendly staff and good atmoshphere. Paphos has a lot to offer for all and this hotel is the place to stay when visiting!

Room Tip: Don't necessaily pay extra for a sea view because sometimes can be a little noisy at night because of the entertainment below.
