The hotel is amazing. It surprised us with the amount of rooms (had 623) and they were very pleasant rooms. A bit warm, so turn off the heating as soon as you get in! Facilities were perfect, never expected an indoor parking of 4 levels in the hotel. Spa - pool area was nice and could even be visited when we checked out already (change clothes/take shower). The staff at the bar-grill was a bit unfriendly when under stress. But we loved the dinners and breakfasts. Would go back in a heart beat if only the ski area was better reachable. The one slope (1a blue) in front is nice, but most slopes are at the back side of the hotel so it will make you always visit the Achenrainbahn up on return... which can be quite a trip for beginners.
Compared to bigger ski areas we visited before this hotel was a bit more expensive, so Obertauern (itself) was nice but we definitely value a typical austrian shopping street that it does not have.

We booked a week at the Marietta with Crystal at the end of January '18.
We were met with a glass of Prosecco, which was nice.
The room was comfortable enough with all the usual comforts of a mid priced hotel.
The decor is..unique.
The shower powerful and always hot.
We used the sauna, but did find the pool a little on the cold side, but a great way of stretching muscles, tired after a day on the slopes.
There is a spacious boot/ski room and the boot room has individual boot warmers/dryers, a boon in the morning.
We were on a half-board package and we both thought the breakfast was very good. The usual Continental selections and a cook to order egg chef, bacon was also available and fresh croissants, so great choice and selection, so one could eat as one wanted.
Evening meals were likewise of a very high standard with a wide choice of soup (usually two different types), starters, salad, main courses, a great cheese board and on various nights throught the week, freshly cooked Pancakes /Waffles. All self-service.
Drinks are ordered and brought to the table.
We could not fault the quality or quantity of food.
After dinner we spent lovely evenings in the spacious and very comfortable lounge/bar area.
Reasonably priced drinks with Cocktails and an interesting Scotch Whisky and Cognac menu.
The thing that struck us above all else were the incredibly helpful staff. Whether in the Dining Room, the Bar (two great lads) or reception, nothing was too much trouble.
This, for us, made a hugh difference to our holiday.
We would both like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make our stay so memorable.
Would we stay again, oh yes
Would we recommend, without doubt.

Spending one week with my boyfriend in the Marietta Hotel. We had a great time! Starting the day right with a power giving breakfast, then hitting the beautiful slopes. For a more relaxing time we went to the spa.. super fun pool, great sauna and amazing massages. We loved dinner and for sure the cocktails at the bar. The staff is very friendly. Our room was a dream, we had the cute honeymoon suite. On our bad weather day we went to the gym, the playroom and strolled thru lovely Obertauern. Another good thing is the huge garage.

Room Tip: honeymoon suite

There are only good locations in Obertauern, so that is not a surprise. But the semi-outdoor sauna, great food, cigar saloon and cosy bar makes the difference. All you need apres ski! Would stay here again

My girlfriends family invited me to spent the weekend at the Marietta in obertauern. It was my second time there.
Saturday the weather wasn’t that good, so we decided to spent the day at the hotels spa. They have different types of sauna, also some of them are outdoors and pool with waterfall :) The food there is pretty good and they got a lot of stuff for vegetarians too. In the evening we tried the a la carte restaurant of the Marietta, it’s like a big living room with open fireplace and also a bar. Nice atmosphere!
Sunday we had great weather and a beautiful view over the mountains. From the hotel you need 1 min to the slopes and obertauern as a skiing resort is 100% awesome.
All in all we had a wonderful weekend. Indoor parking garage, ski rental at the hotel, a lot of free time activity’s, awesome rooms and super friendly service.
Because all of that five well deserved points :)
