We enjoyed our stroll along this long, narrow street. It was full of interesting shops of all kinds, many of which were interesting but most of which had high prices.
Of particular interest to us were the gift and souvenir shops. Unfortunately, the inflated prices charged for their goods, limited our purchases.
Besides the shops, there are a number of other things located here to be seen here. We found the fascinating architecture of the buildings located along each side of the street to be of particular interest. The cobblestones used as the street surface added to the ambience of the street. There were also beautiful small sculptures and statues located at various points along the street.
During our visit to Salzburg, we found the Gstattengasse to be the most crowded part of the old town. This was simply a reflection of how popular this part of the old town is, with tourists.
This unique street should be on the "must visit" list for any tourist spending time in Salzburg!

Salzburg doesn't have a skyline or city streets/buildings that standout from within the city view, but the colors of these buildings tightly hugging a rocky hill is a nice sight to see from either side of the river.

The best in shopping while in Salzburg. Only thing is some of the shops you will need to dig deep in the pockets with places such as Pandora, Swarovski and traditional clothing. They also have shops for the small to medium budget as well. Plenty of cafes and alfresco dining. This is a must go to place on your visit just to drool!

It's wierd to have such an olde worlde street with a McDonalds and H&M on! The shops blend in well to the street, especially with the unique McDonalds sign.

Cobbles add to the feel of an old street, as do the brightly coloured buildings. Lots of little passageways are located off this street which take ages to explore. A huge range of things available here from modern day clothing, the traditional Austrian dress, tourist knick knacks and high end designer clothing.

Great place to spend a few hours.
