We have stayed at Blobergerhof twice now and I'm sure it will not be the last.

In terms of the location, the hotel is situated on the outskirts of Salzburg and in my view the setting is perfect. It is quite rural (just off the lovely Moosstrasse) without being too far away from the centre (only 10-15 mins to the centre by bus). A regular bus goes from the Moosstrasse (2 mins from Blobergerhof) to town, which is very useful and means that you really don't need a car whilst in Salzburg.

The hotel itself is like a small chalet, the decor inside is both modern and rustic. We have stayed in two different types of rooms and would recommend paying extra to stay in the Category A room (it has lovely views over the mountains).

Breakfast is also very impressive - a good range of local bread, cheese, ham, jams, fruit, cake, cereals, etc...and eggs however you like them! The hotel also serves evening meals, which is very handy if you are too tired to venture into Salzburg in the evening.

In terms of service, Inga (the owner) has a very professional manner with guests and she is also helpful and friendly. I noticed that her English was also very good.

All in all, the Blobergerhof is a very charming small hotel, which is both cosy and modern. The location is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and very clean, breakfast is excellent - and the price is very reasonable!

We checked in early and were given the honeymoon suite as it was available for our 2 night stay. The room was very spacious and the balcony was a lovely asset to relax on after a big day of sightseeing. There is free wireless and a workstation in the lobby. The breakfast is both plentiful and healthy with a great variety of fruits, muesli, boiled eggs cooked to your choosing, breads, cold meats and cheeses. The view from the rooms is nice but not the best we have seen in Austria. The hospitality is above standard. 12 euros for washing is a litlle steep though, especially when some washing was lost. In terms of the bus - if you are arriving by train catch the number one bus and then change onto the number 21 bus. The street names are displayed on the indicator board inside the bus. Make sure you pay attention as you have to be quick to press the button when the street is displayed. Make sure that you purchase a 24 hour ticket as it is almost the same price as a single fare. The bus drivers will not inform you of this. If you purchase the ticket at 11am it is still valid until 11am the next day unlike other central european cities. Enjoy!

My mother, my 10-year-old daughter and I spent three days in this beautiful little hotel last week and we enjoyed every aspect of it. Our room (like a previous reviewer we were also allocated Room 21) was a family suite rather than a family room and like every other part of the hotel it was spotlessly clean.

Sylvia and Inge were very welcoming and their English was great. We ate in the restaurant for two of our evenings in Salzburg and they were very happy to prepare "off menu" meals for my mother.

Whilst this hotel is a little way outside the city centre, travelling to all the tourist attractions is very easy by public transport - we travelled into the city centre (about a 20 minute bus ride) and we also went to the Untersberg and the Hellbrunn Palace using Sylvia's concise and accurate directions.

We loved staying at this beautiful hotel and are already planning a return trip.

We spent quite some time looking for a place that suited us in Salzburg. The reviews of Bloberger Hof appealed to us and we were not disappointed. Arriving by rental car, we were able to park safely and then just take the bus into the central city – so easy!. It is beautifully furnished - it felt like we were staying in a big doll's house. Sylvia and Inge were welcoming and helpful and the food is wonderful…great breakfasts and after having dinner there on the first night, we couldn’t think of a reason not to repeat the enjoyable experience on the second night. Booking directly via email was hassle-free. It was nice to be staying in a residential part of the city and just over the road was the countryside with magnificent mountains in the background.

I stayed for two nights, and loved being able to have a quiet place to stay/sleep outside the city. The bus system is easy to figure out, and stops near the hotel frequently. Traveling as a single woman, I felt safe riding the bus and walking alone even late at night.

The rooms are huge; a single had a full-sized bed and a large sitting area. They are simply-appointed, but clean and in good condition. The staff is extremely friendly and speaks English well.

The food served at the in-house restaurant is very good. I ate one dinner there and spent about 20 Euros, which especially worth it for the convenience of not having to go out. The breakfasts were simple, but had a lot of variety (breads, eggs, muesli, fruit).
