Great Location, clean and comfortable rooms, you were able to open the windows, they provided an assortment of food for breakfast and parking onsite which was a bonus. The only down side was that there was no fridge in the room.

Stayed 3 nights in Hotel Gasthof Engl. We emailed the owner 1 week before arrival, seeking advise for directions to the hotel but they didn’t reply. So we had to use Google map and make our way to the hotel on foot, which takes around 25mins from Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof. For fellow travellers, who do not wish to walk so long, my advise is to take bus 501 (just in front of the train station) and stop at no 4 Innstraße- see the last photo I have posted. The bus comes around every 30mins from Monday to Friday. On weekends the timing may change. If you buy the Innsbruck card from the tourist centre, all bus and tram rides are included. This hotel is located across the river, takes around 10- 15mins walk to the old town. If you want to visit mountain Nordkette, there is a funicular station around 15 mins walk from the left side of the hotel.

The hotel has a lift. So it’s good for traveller with heavy luggages. The room itself is reasonably sized, clean and has got electrical socket on each side of the bed to charge your devices. We stay in level 2 and was able to see the snow cap mountain view. There are however 2 things which I don’t like about this room. First is that the ventilation mainly comes from the window. As it’s along a street, it can be a bit noisy at night if you open the window for ventilation. Second is about is bed and pillow- they are way too soft.

The hotel provide breakfast and I must say it’s quite good spread. There are yogurt, good selection of jams, hams, fruits and bread. If you bring a Thermo flask, they help to refill hot water as well since there are no kettle in the room.

Overall this is a small family owned hotel, it is not fanciful but compensated by its location (close to old town) and hearty breakfast spread. Good for those who want a feel of Austrian guesthouse.

a good hotel, well situated close to the old city and the nordkette station, a little far from the train station (20 min by walk) so take a cab, it is only 8 euros
splendid wiews from the windows
services ok, breakfast very good, even it was the same in all three days
minuses - wooden floor (a little noisy), furniture a little outdated (especially the beds), free wifi problematic

Room tip: if you want to have a splendid wiew, take a room on the third floor or higher, looking the street

We stayed for three nights over a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the city. The old town is ABSOLUTELY beautiful and a few minutes walk. The hotel is clean and toasty warm with a lovely breakfast.

Room tip: We had a wonderful view of the mountains
