The Mercure Secession is in the Museum Quarter of Vienna, where markets and restaurants abound. It is one block from the Naschmarkt with every sort of restaurant, from local to a bounty of Asian, Russian, and Western European fares. The hotel has a small lounge, a business center (albeit, and not surprisingly, the computer is in German but the staff will help to print out a boarding pass). Rooms are lovely with beautiful bathrooms (heated floors) and air conditioning (in Celcius and Fahrenheit for those of us who hate conversion formulas). There is also a lovely inner courtyard open to the sky. Really, really good hotel at a good price.

The staff is what really made our visit. They were friendly and patient with our attempts to speak German (and able to speak a variety of languages when our German proved inadequate). The rooms were clean and comfortable and surprisingly spacious. The breakfast buffet was impressive with a variety of meats, cheese, bread, fruit and yogurt parfaits, not to mention scrambled eggs, juices and coffees. Nicely located near the Naschmarket and the Opera, this reasonably-priced hotel will be our go-to lodging in Vienna.

We stayed at Mercure Secessions Vienna during a 4 day holiday in Vienna. It is in a great location, close by the Naschmarkets and Karlsplatz, where 3 metro lines cross.
It is only a short walk to the main attractions of Vienna, like to Hofsburg, Opera House and Stephansdom.

Like many older, inner city hotels in Europe, our room was smaller than more modern hotels. However, our travelling friends were placed in the other part of the hotel in a much larger room.

As Vienna was unusually hot for 2 of the 4 days, the hotels Air-conditioning struggled, which made for uncomfortable sleeping.

Very close to all the main sights. Clean, comfortable, staff are great. There was a slight mix up with bookings as I had thought I was getting breakfast included however it wasn't. But I think that was booking.com fault rather than the hotel. They do offer full breakfast for 18 euro or croissant and coffee for 6.90 euro.
My Mum was with me and the location made getting around very easy, can walk anywhere, stations are close by as well. The big market is steps away so can get food there (no restaurant in hotel). Would have no issues in recommending this hotel to anyone. Only slightly odd thing e noticed was that the room was not cleaned while we were there. The beds were made but the cups were not cleaned and neither was the bathroom. Not a huge issue just odd for a 4* hotel.

The staff was very friendly and service minded. The room was quiet and clean. Free WiFi. Easy to find and very close to the underground station Karlsplatz. I would definitely consider staying here again, but would choose to get my breakfast elsewhere.
