We stayed in the Startlight Suiten Hotel Salzgries for four nights (Friday-Tuesday). Our first room (403) room was very spacious (separated bedroom), clean and well-equipped. Breakfast was delicious but the selection was not always plentiful. Especially the hot food (bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs) and some others (pretzels, yogurt in a can) were often finished and the waitresses didn’t fill the empty containers.
The location of the hotel is excellent: it is within a walking distance to Schwedenplatz (critical metro and tram station). A convenience store (Spar) was also nearby although keep in mind that almost every shop closes early in Vienna.
The only downside of the hotel was that there is a bar/nightclub which was pretty loud during the weekend nights. We had trouble sleeping the first two nights (Fri-Sat, Sat-Sun) because of the noise coming from outside. During our stay the toilet broke down so we had to change rooms. Our second room (502) was facing the same direction but this time we slept better because during the weekdays the street was more quiet.More
