Our stay here was very pleasant. the staff were very friendly and aimed to please. The breakfast was nice and the bar opened til late. The room was a little small and the bed was not great, but it was what I expected for the price. It is within walking distance of the main city.
I enjoyed the hotel and the room (although it was small and had no tv).
The staff was very nice and helpful.
It was well located, with a bus line directly from Sudbanhof, where you drop off from the airport bus.
Shopping streets and restaurants nearby.
I would definitely stay there if I go back.
Where do I begin?
We booked the room with the expectation that it would be small, we didn't realize it would look absolutely NOTHING like the picture.
Getting there was only half the battle. Even with a GPS the hotel was very difficult to find and not in a very savory location. The street is covered in graffiti and people were openly snorting cocaine on the next street over.
At Check-In the gentleman informed us that there was only one key and it must be turned in everytime we leave the hotel, even if we were just going out to eat.
The hallways are old and dirty and are very reminscent of an aging insane asylum. On each floor there is a common room with a shared kitchen and tv that is blasting 24/7. Enjoy the tv, because you won't find one in your room... or much of anything else.
The room for 2 came with 2 single beds, no doubles or queens but we were told we could push them together, too bad they were on the opposite side of the room. There were four closets with keys however the locks didn't actually lock. The beds did come with a pillow and set of sheets each but no actual blankets. There was a coat rack next to the door, but once again no actual hooks to hang your coats on. The bathroom came with no ammenities except 4 shot glasses in front of the sink and an assortment of miss-matched assortment of hand towels, no actual body size towels.
You could open the windows at night for air however the area has a lot of clubs and bars and there are people walking and screaming outside at 3 in the morning. If that isn't bad enough, the building is very old without any major rennovations so the floors squeak and you can easily hear people above, below and outside your room.
If you haven't had your shots i would recommend having them before coming, the bathroom floor and showers are covered in mold.
The hotel also advertised free continental breakfast with omelets. You have to cross the street to another wing to get to the dining hall. At the first station they only had 2 types of meet with 1 type of cheese and rolls. There were 3 other stations but they all served the same thing and there were no omelets.
You cannot get parking in advance its a day by day process and its first come first serve. We didn't arrive until later in the day and they were out of spots. The area was so dangerous we parked in a garage but that was 5 euro an hour! We finally found a spot later but in the morning found someone had puked all over the passenger side door and of course covering the entire handle. I'm not saying this is the hotel's fault but the area is very ceedy.
about 4 or 5 blocks over you'll come across the Palace and all the other attractions but its literally the differance between night and day from where you are staying.
Stay here at you're own risk, I wouldn't be suprised if they were operating a crystal meth lab out of here.
very old dirty dorm rooms ...they say its equivalent to a 2 star hotel but I have stayed in hostels way better than this..
The breakfast consisted of instant coffee and juices, hard rolls, and cheap cold meats and cheese. You can definately find better for the price!! A very depressing place to stay.
It was a very nice hotel although i understood it is in fact a student dorm, the rooms were clean, the towels were good to use, the pillows were OK. The staff was very helpful, they explained us how we can get to the center of the city, what to visit, they even spoke with the company that organises the Vienna sightseeing by bus "hop on hop off". If it`s raining, you should know that you don`t have to buy an umbrella, the reception has its own umbrellas, they only request for a deposit of 5€ for each one, but when you bring it back they give you your deposit. It was a bad weather in Vienna so we went for dinner to a small restaurant near the hotel, the food was very good and not very expansive, we paid 45€ (4 pers). The breakfast was good, plenty of food. The location of the hotel is good, it`s 10-15 minutes from the subway station, the ticket is 1.70€. i don`t recommend you take the taxi, it`s kind of expansive, we paid 7€ from the center of the city to the hotel.
