there was no factory tour because there are only 2 per day. that would have really made the tour nicer. the pieces on display are beautiful. not a lot of displayed pieces; we were through in under 30 minutes. would have liked to purchase something from the gift shop, but the prices were off the charts. $100 for a small cup? I don't think so. The signage provided some insight into porcelain's place in Austrian royal history.

This is the shop in Spiegelgasse, I did not go to the factory.
I bought one cup + saucer for 99 euro. That was the cheapest one; there was a nice hand painted one, 290 euro.

I visited this lovely shop on a Tuesday early afternoon. It is located near Graben. If you are into handicrafts and porcelain this shop is a must. They offer a wide range of products from animal figures to dinnerware. The clerks couldn´t more helpful and friendly! They even attended me in Spanish! If you want a great souvenir from this wonderful city, I would highly recommend you buying something here. If you like any of their designs ask them to show you more products! They keep some of them in cabinets.

We realized now why porcelain is so expensive...:) All handmade and gently design (old style and modern!)

The museum and factory are situated in a very nice building with an entrance park where neighbors walk their dogs and drive their bicycles. The factory works from Monday to Thursday, so unluckily we were not able to see the work itself. We could visit the museum, which is definitely worthwhile for porcelain lovers. There is a very representative exposition of viennese old porcelain and also of the beautiful objects made during the last century at this factory.
Attached to the museum is a shop, with all the traditional products of Augarten Porzellan. Beautiful but steep prices. There is also a nice restaurant and cafe in the premises.
