We enjoyed an excellent dining experience from the moment we walked in the door. The staff were friendly, helpful and extremely professional. We ordered a goose pate for an appetizer and traditional Austrian meat dish for our main and they were incredibly delicious. The wine that was suggested paired perfectly with our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant and thank you for making our evening special.

we went with friends ,6 of us and expected the perfect service ! Plachuttas restaurants used to guarantee for a very professional service !
but i must admit within the last 2 days i have experienced in both restaurants very poor service .it took forever to have tabwater served ,even though we had also ordered a bottle of wine ,Proseccos and beers -usually it takes forever if one does not order "ordinary drinks "-the Service took forever ,whatever we had asked for took a long time get to our table.
the backhendl was not to my husbands satisfaction ,my Veal was very nice, The Schwammerlgulasch was good but the Kaiserschmarrn was first of all a mini portion but nothing to write home about - the Palatschinken neither -we had ordered those dishes to introduce them to our friends from abroad .
at the end we were overcharged by more than 31 Euros ,as they added the schnaps that was served at a different table plus an extra coffee ,the coffees took forever .
so i guess this restaurant will be off my list which is a pitty .
i lost trust in the chain of "Plachuttas" restaurants - 2 negative experiences within 2 days !!

If you're planning on visiting Plachutta make a reservation- especially for the patio if desired. We lucked out with a mid-afternoon refreshment outside, but would recommend in order to avoid disappointment.

I understand this restaurant is many many years old, which probably means something. Food is pricey (but not to an excessive degree), but this is to be expected from such a place. The plates and servings were quite big. Stuff polite, very clean. There can be a little waiting before finding a table, but again, this is not too unusual for this place.

During the 80s '3 Husaren' reigned supreme in Vienna's admittedly small gourmet scene under the leadership of Uwe Kohl and Ewald Plachutta. In 1993 the two split and Ewald Plachutta started to build a small empire of restaurants.

The food is so quintessentially Austrian that on some days it's hard to find Austrians amongst all the tourists looking for local food. Plachutta is widely credited of rediscovering the Tafelspitz but even if you don't like boiled beef it's worth a visit.

The waiters were friendly, the service efficient, our children loved the Wiener Schnitzel and I enjoyed the Palatschinken.

For anyone looking for authentic food, Plachutta is an excellent choice.

Thank Daniel G
