We came across the place by chance. It's on a pedestrian shopping street downtown.
The small upstairs section is bright and cheerful. They also have a large basement room.
They have an English menu and the usual dishes.
We had Chicken Korma, Chick peas,Rice, a small beer and a Garlic Naan. Plus a free popaddom. Cost 466 NOK.
The dishes were all good, but the best things were the free tap water and that the serving of rice was quite generous . The price of food is so high in Norway we had only had a snack for lunch and we were hungry!

Attempted by the 'good' reviews, we bought a groupon deal with this restaurant. They might have tasty food, but their attitude and service is simply horrible. Reservation phone calls never get picked up, and when we show up in the restaurant, the waiter uses every excuse to refuse our voucher. So why do you even sell the pre-paid vouchers? The whole experience is unbelievable.

Being local residents, we just wanna tell that there's dozens other Indian restaurants in Oslo that would make you happy. Nanda is not one of them.

Me and my brother went to this amazing Indian resturant! Orderes our main dish around 18:00.. And did not get it until more like 19:00.. but it was worth every minutte! This is one of the better meala I have ever tasted! And at an amazing price! I had the pepper chicken @ 189NOK, and my brother the Vegiterian Biryani @ 149NOK. The amount AND quality of food, sides, starters.. It was an tastefull adventure from the first and until the last bite! Will defenetly go back next time I visit Oslo! 5 of 5 - well deserved!
PS: its located at Torggata 8, Oslo. The music is Indian, not too loud, and the venue is small upstairs but way bigger downstairs! Worth visiting :-)

The restaurant was basically empty at 7pm on a Friday night but we decided to stay anyway and it was a good choice. The place looks small on the ground level but there's a lot more space downstairs and there's a lot more ambience there as well. The food was delicious, the dishes were big and the service was very friendly. Another note, the music was not too loud like it happens to be in some places.

While staying in Oslo we ate at the Nanda restaurant located at Torggata 8 0181 Oslo. The food was excellent. The restaurant appears to be small when you're on the ground floor; however, downstairs is a larger part of the restaurant.
