Located by the river the hotel provided a comfortable stopover location for a few days. Being the Christmas and New Year holiday period things were pretty quiet in the hotel and indeed the town in general. Nonetheless staff were attentive, the room was comfortable, WiFi good, the buffet breakfast more than adequate. On this visit not sure why you’d complain about it [buffet breakfast)? From here exploring the old town was easy. So to was access to the airport. Overall we were very satisfied.

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel and it doesn't disappoint.

Situated in an ideal waterside location, the hotel is easy to find and within walking distance of most conveniences. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in was speedy and efficient. The lobby was well decorated and maintained and the lounge area was warm and inviting.

Due to my frequent flyer status, I received a room upgrade. Rooms at this hotel are quite small (as is common in Scandinavia) but spotlessly clean and nevertheless cosy. I experienced the evening catering in the bar - this was adequate. Hotel dining is typically expensive and this was nothing special to write home about in terms of the menu and quality (portions were quite small too).

Sleep quality in the room was excellent - the room temperature was just right and the comfort levels of the bedding were great too. In the morning, I took breakfast in the restaurant area. This is a reasonable basic affair - all self service with a range of options. Some light, some a little more filling. The restaurant benefited from not being too busy so you could relax with a paper and a coffee.

As my stay was just one night, there wasn't time to experience all the facilities. This is unfortunate as I would have enjoyed a longer stay but this wasn't possible. Nevertheless, checkout was fast and post-stay customer service was good (an error was found in the checkout folio).

Overall this is a good hotel and probably should be a default choice for anyone staying in Trondheim. I hope to return one day and stay again. Thoroughly recommended.

I mailed Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel the 30 of december, asking if the could provide us 5 persons with accomendation the night to the New Year 2019 and if they had a New Years dinner!
A couple of hours later, They offered us an perfect New Years Eve!
When we arrived, we were perfect welcomed!

We were all the way over from Australia joining up with family to holiday and this was a great hotel for all our purposes!

Very funky, modern design which best enables views, natural light and use of spaces, we were very happy to have a fjord overlooking view of the water, ducks, boats and cafes. Our other family with Miss 5 and 7 were not as happy with a room which only opened to an internal foyer so they felt the room got too hot and stuffy at nights.

The lobby is extremely cosy and comfortable, and each rotation of different desk staff genuinely happy to help always (and had excellent humour!).

Breakfast was included and had huge variety, staff eager to clear up, and very polite natures. We liked that the breaky venue is so large, open plan, comfortable and family friendly.

The hotel’s location to the massive and impressive pool centre (a family must visit!), train station and ferry terminals, cafes, cathedral and old town bridge, town hall and even the Tower Restaurant (Egon - only an easy 35 minute very scenic walk and a must visit! - but book early) is all brilliant! Room service staff were consistently efficient, accommodating and cheerful.

This is a wonderful town historically and culturally, and our two families found this hotel brilliant as our holiday base for the 4 days. Thanks Radisson Blu teams, Norway and Trondheim!

ps One of the airport express buses drops off and picks up from right out front every 10 minutes - we found this really helpful and easy!
