“Amazing Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2011

I would definitely stay at Klosterhagen again- the rooms were wonderful, the staff helpful, but best of all, the hotel breakfast was the best I have ever had- everything is homemade and of the best quality!

It's often said that the devil is in the details. The staff at this small and cozy feinschmecker hotel has really paid attention to the details. All the details. The bathroom was one of the cleanliest and most fresh and delicate hotel bathrooms I can remember. The rooms, although small, were flawless and without the small specks of dirt normally found hidden in the corners. The breakfast, well, words really fall short. Just go there and have the experience yourself, perhaps you can find adequate superlatives....

Sitting on a hill, next to a small park, within easy walking distance of central Bergen, this hotel is set in a very peaceful location. The rooms are basic but offer everything that is needed: very comfortable bed, immaculate bathroom and in room tea and coffee making facilities (real tea and coffee!)
I also need to comment on the breakfast. It was by far and away one of the best breakfasts i have ever had in a hotel. If you are a fan of the english style breakfast (sausages, eggs, beans, etc) then stay away from this hotel! However, if you like the more continental approach of home made breads, smoked fish, cheese, home made pate, jams, eggs, fresh juices and coffee, then go here! You will not be disappointed.
The original reason we chose this hotel was the fact that it is run by ALF which specialisies in helping to rehabilitate those less fortunate (social, mental illness or drug related problems). The reason we'll go back is due to how friendly and helpful the staff were. Oh, and the breakfast

Agree with all the other reviews. Decently located hotel (5 mins to fish market, 15 to rail station, close to restaurants and bars) with a great breakfast of a selection of cheeses, fish, meats, vegetables, fruits, home made bread and jams, muesli and yogurts to die for. Oh and fresh orange juice, fresh coffee and a selection of about 8 loose leaf teas - amazing!

Levels of service consistently high with friendly staff.

We had an attic room (304) which had no noise problems and an excellent view over the mountains. Comfortable big bed, sofa and coffee table, tea and coffee brewing facilities, lovely big bathroom, warm and a big flat screen tv with cable. Only drawback is definitely lack of storage space.

Very clean, simply stylish and free wifi to boot. If you're coming to this breathtakingly expensive town to visit the even more breathtaking fjords, this hotel is very much recommended.

I choice this hotel because reviewers in this site keep mentioning how delicious the breakfast is. So, I want to prove it....and really oh my...I don't expect it will be that good. There is salmon, pate, lovely choice of bread, very fresh juice, very good range of tea (from white tea to black tea), homemade jams, lovely pickled. It's even better than the breakfast in most resort hotel!

For example, the tea in the room? Usually small hotel provides things like english breakfast tea or darjeling. This one? Keemun Congou!

Recommend for foodie ;-).

I stayed here for 2 nights while attending a conference in bergen. I highly suggest for a romantic stay. The breakfast is just unbelievable, entirely homemade. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in two attic rooms. Staff were very friendly and extermely helpful. Small but modern rooms - showers have no glass doors (wetting entire bathroom). Excellent location, breakfast was the best ever.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor
