This was a practical buffet, located near the Hurtigruten Terminal, and works well as a meal before boarding to avoid high food costs onboard ship. Since we had eaten a huge breakfast, we opted for the Fishball plate. Since we do not eat pork, she substituted a third fishball and some extra cooked veggies. Not all of the servers were as proficient in English as the young lady they summoned for us. It was a relatively small buffet, but with roasted potatoes, BBQ corn kernals, hot dog or hamburger buns, polske (hot dogs), hamburgers, chicken legs, spare ribs, and small portions of fried salmon. There was also some vegetables and desserts. It is one flight of steps up from the street (no elevator) and practical with institutional tables and chairs. A good budget option.

Nordmørskafeen is a venue where they are serving diverse traditional local seafood and ditto meat food. Especially the fish meals are lovely.

Great traditional Norwegian food. I always have the kjottkake (sp?) - meatballs. But strange potato balls and fish balls are also on the menu. Lovely view across the harbour in a cafe that's barely changed in 20 years, thankfully.
