“Great appartment”
Reviewed 10 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

It was a really great, large space (the pictures don't do it justice), well equipped and in a stunning area good for walking and we saw water voles and rainbow trout in the river. Highly recommended.

“Spacious, modern, apartment set in perfect rolling hills”
Reviewed 14 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

The apartment, is a luxurious, spacious, modern space, that worked perfectly for us! The rooms are spotless, yet still come across as welcoming and homely with timeless features. The fact that it is in a re-done factory adds to the uniqueness of this beautiful apartment, with spacious rooms, huge windows (looking out onto a rushing stream and a great rock face) and amazing black pillars. The massive family room (kitchen/living room) worked superbly as a space for the whole family to spend time together. Furthermore, the surrounding area is stunning, with rolling hills and a significant number of streams and rivers. Would definitely recommend!

Thanks so much for this review (and the others left elsewhere) - I would also like to point out that you're a repeat guest and that's what we like to see - guests who love it so much they come again and again!

“Very comfortable apartment in the heart of the peak district”
Reviewed 14 December 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Our second visit to the apartment, just as comfortable as the first time. Every thing you need for a great stay and very spacious and very well equiped. It is very well placed for walking, or cycling, from literally just outside the front door. Given we stayed in November when it had been very wet previously, easy access to the Monsal trail, (and several other disused railway lines), meant we could walk in the country without getting covered in mud every day.

“Fabulous apartment in lovely remote location and great views.”
Reviewed 13 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Thoroughly enjoyed property with stunning views. Party of 4 with 2 year old grandson. Good location to visit local area, weather very kind for late October early November. Fabulous lounge and kitchen area and glad we had main bedroom as one room very small but not an issue for us based on our group. Hope to return. Thanks Tricia and Gary

“Great for 4 bad news for 6”

Great location, well furnished, comfortable beds, but definitely not suitable for 6 adults. The small bedroom was too small to take a double bed. We had to remove the chest of drawers into the entrance area to access the left hand side of the bed.
All our belongings had to be kept in the entrance area as well. There was no outside window so unable to obtain fresh air. There were however two internal windows which did not have blinds or curtains to exclude the light coming from the adjacent rooms. It was prison cell like.

As to the ensuite, this measured .75m. by 3m approx. Access to the toilet was restricted by a centrally located 20 cm cast iron column. The position of the glass shelf over the sink meant washing your face or cleaning teeth was hazardous.
The shower cubicle was perfectly adequate but only for small people. The extractor fan did not work. I find it hard to believe that a developer would include such a cramped sub standard double bedroom in an otherwise spacious apartment.

The kitchen/dining area was also not suitable for six people to dine as when the table was extended there was very little space left for food preparation and serving.

For the above reasons this apartment is great for 4, but for 6 it is bed news for 2.

Anne and David Warburton were the unfortunate 2

This is our 7th year of letting out the property for holidays. We often have 6 people stay, we have had the odd few comments about the size of the room/en suite.
You're on holiday for a week, is it that bad, surely you're not in there that much? If it's really a problem can't you arrange with your friends to use one of the other 2 en suites?
The developer did not build it like that - it was a huge 'waste of space' utility room/extra toilet, which for our purposes was better as a bedroom - it had to have a en suite due to there being no 'family' bathroom.
The agent you booked through visited the property before it was first listed with them and they were quite happy to advertise it as suitable for 6 adults.
You still gave 4 'blobs' for the review, you clearly did like the property - I feel you were perhaps somewhat aggrieved being the couple who got 'allocated' the smallest bedroom.
Thanks for NOT letting us know directly that the extractor fan is not working - we rely on guests letting us know things like this as we do not visit the property often ourselves and the cleaner cannot check everything every time she's there - you know how big it is, it takes her the full time between guests to get it cleaned.
And with regard to the wardrobe, this winter when we have more gaps between bookings, we are going to assess what can be done about some wardrobe/hanging space for that room.

We were a party of three mature couples and we had a very good time at Litton Mill, despite two or three very wet days which were not forecast before we left home. We liked the apartment which is well equipped and provided everything we needed. Having a dishwasher is great when self-catering for 6 adults. The location was great for our trip to the Chatsworth flower show as we got there and back without any traffic issues which according to the news was not the case for many.

The central living space is great with plenty of space to spread out and beautiful views of the river and hills. The only disappointment was the huge variety in the bedrooms with one being an enormous double with a huge en-suite, the second twin room was fine and both these bedrooms had great views. The third bedroom is very small with no outside window and with a double bed in it there was no room for a wardrobe. Having a separate en-suite was useful even though it was tiny.

The location of the Litton Mill is great, just below the Monsal trail, which offers great walks. The Anglers Rest pub is about a 20-minute walk and serves good home-made food, including vegetarian options and some excellent beer. It is also very good value for money.

We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and would stay here again (although only as a foursome with adult friends). If we bring the family this would be a great option.

You have to appreciate that the apartments were built for living in, it's not a hotel so the bedrooms are going to be of different sizes. We are also this Winter when we have more gaps in bookings going to assess what we can do about a wardrobe for the third bedroom.
