Spacious, light and modern, the villa was a lovely place to spend our holiday. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped and although the house was furnished in a minimalist style, it still felt homely. There was plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing and relax. The house was located in a a quiet residential area but it was only a 5 minute drive /20 minute walk to the local village of Meco where there was a grocery shop, cafes, restaurants (specialising in fish and seafood) and an ATM/cash machine. Even though it was directly beside a road, the security was very good and the traffic on the road was minimal. The surrounding area had a lot to offer. Lisbon was under an hour's journey away and a trip to Sintra was easily manageable in a day. We also made a trip to Setubol to see the Dolphins, which was very worthwhile despite being a little pricey (€30 each). The beach at Meco is only a 10 minute drive away and has strong waves; probably good for surfing and kite boarding. There are many more coves and beaches along the coast and at Sesimbra there is the opportunity to paddle board or donut. Santana, a town that you will pass through to get to Sesimbra has a choice of larger supermarkets: Lidl, Aldi, Pingo Doce.
