“Great location and the personal touch”
Reviewed 7 August 2011

My partner and I stayed at the Kinmel Hotel on 25th June after attending a wedding. We had a lovely, large room with a four-poster bed. We paid a little more for a sea-view which was certainly worth it. The little touches that set the hotel apart from others we have stayed at were things like quality toiletries, bottles of mineral water and a good selection of hot drinks (hot chocolate always welcome for this non tea/coffee drinking person) in the room. We had a peaceful night's sleep and enjoyed a slap-up breakfast the next morning. The hotel seems to attract a mixed crowd-couples, families, older people and was a friendly efficiently-run family hotel. We will certainly return!

Room Tip: Pay extra for a sea-view

The room was fairly comfortable after we asked for chair. The bathroom lacked a bathmat, a towel rail a toilet roll holder and a shelf for toilet articles, like soap and tooth brushes and paste and a hook to hang a towel on bytrhe sink. The shower and hot water were fine.
Breakfasts were good and wish |I could say the same about the evening meal - dished up on the plate with mashed potato EVERY day and not what we expected in a hotel. Plates at both meals were cold. Good company on our table made meal times bearable. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Got the booking from a site "Roomfor5". Then contacted the hotel paid £140 for an adjoining family room on the 3rd floor reached by a lift. Double bed in one room and double bed and single bed in the other room with an interconnecting door. The rooms were large, clean but in need of TLC, but not neglected. parking at the rear for about 15 cars. great help yourself breakfast overall the hotel and room served its purpose and it was a rather enjoyable stay. I have since seen six family reviews on trip advisor who didnt have a pleasurable time. I can say as a bit of a travel geek, who will complain if required, there was nothing at all to complain about. we enjoyed the hotel and the polite response from all staff.

Room Tip: only got one adjoining family rooms 37 & 38

Hotel was fine, clean & tidy, food was great, we were there for one night to switch off and have a break BUT, after spending the night here and spending about £400 between us on this accommodation after breakfast on the Sunday morning we were going to take a walk around Llandudno before heading for home and as we were leaving the hotel car park. The owner/manageress came out to ask us to leave immediately and move our cars on the excuse that she had people waiting to come in knowing full well that arrival time is 2pm - 10pm. We did as we were asked but literally 2 minutes after going up the road in our cars and leaving the car park to look for somewhere else to park we were stopped by the police who told us they'd had a tip off to say that we were under the influence and asked us to give a breathalyzer, I'm glad to say that the 3 drivers passed, but it doesn't take a genius to work out who tipped the police off, If this is the policy at this hotel they should not have a bar in the lounge for people to drink in and they should make it clear that they are a tee-total hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel is clean, comfortable and disabled friendly with a good sized lift to all floors. All the staff were friendly and very helpful making our short stay a memorable one. Food was freshly cooked and plentiful leaving you full and satisfied. I recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again. "Oh" the entertaiment was good, great singers, and if you like a laugh have a game of cheeky bingo.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view
