Six of us went tonight to Rio in Ipswich. It was very quiet but the service was excellent.
It is a set price eat as much as you want.
There is a Salad Bar with heaps of choices. Also a Brazilian dish with rice..
You take your Salad to the table then there is a Green and Red oblong wooden block on your table. You,have it showing the Green and the waiter will keep coming up with all different meats and Chicken on a skewer. When you need a break you turn it to Red. When you are ready for more you turn it to Green again. We had some large eaters with us and in the end they could eat no more..

It was not only my husband’s birthday but also my daughter’s earlier in the week and they are both meat lovers so Rios was the obvious place to go for a birthday dinner.

There were 10 of us and we were a little late arriving - but this did not faze the staff, all of whom were very helpful and friendly. We were ushered upstairs to our table and it was explained to us how the restaurant works (I think by the manager).

We helped ourselves to the buffet style ‘side dishes’. There were several different salads, chips, garlicky potatoes (that were fab) plus cauliflower cheese, pasta in a sauce, potato salad plus other bits that I don’t remember.

We were then served meat - and oh boy. First Gammon, then 2 different sorts of sausages, chicken and bacon, garlic beef, rump steak, lamb, pork with Parmesan, chicken hearts and these were carved off the skewer (very large skewer) at the table and you could ask for a specific bit to be cut, ask for more. And these were not just brought once to the table but several times.

And so it continued until we could eat no more - apart from 3 people who had dessert!!

Such lovely staff - the waiter who brought the meat to our table (always the same waiter) was soo lovely and made sure that we had what we wanted.

Not the cheapest night out but the wine was flowing and the food kept coming, so you didn’t feel like it was over priced at all.

Would definitely recommend a visit, and don’t eat too much during the day before you go.

If you never go to a Brazilian restaurant and you feel like you need to go it is a good option. They changed a lot the week day and week end price.

food was upto the normal standard and you can eat as much as you like, they give you a wooden block on the table which is red at one end and green at the other end.
When you are ready you turn the wooden block green side up and they bring the meats to you at the table are carve off you some and will keep coming back with different meats until you turn the wooden block to red.
You can keep turning the wooden block as many times as you wish to you are full !! and you can also help yourselve to as much rice, salad , chips other pasta dish , lasagne , bread and many other things
Go on give it a try and see how much you can eat !!

Drove in the car for over an hour to get there. Website says it closes at 23:00. Arrived at 21:45 and they refused to serve me on the basis that it was quiet so they were closing early... even though the place was nearly full! Appealing service... avoid!
