First of all there was nobody attending the bar. We waited around for a good five minutes before deciding the bar must have been abandoned.

The lady who showed us to our table was pan faced with a ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude but our waitress was pleasant and helpful enough. The restaurant itself was dated and tired looking

I had the suet steak and cheese pie. It was dry and very bland and it wasn’t presented well. My husband had fish and chips; he said the fish was watery and didn’t finish his meal.

We paid the same sort of price you would pay in a motorway service station…far too much for the standard of food we were given. We walked away feeling like we'd just been robbed.

Place needs a face lift,
front of house needs looking at and the chef needs a talking to.

The restaurant is the normal lay out for a beefeater
I was seated and left to order, but i had not been given the "evening" menu so had to ask for it. i ordered a drink and this came quite quickly. when ordering i was advised they had no 8oz Sirloin (this is a beefeater with no steak i though to my self), i was advised the 10oz rump was a suitable substitute, so i ordered. The food arrived and looked nice, but a 10oz rump is not the same as a Sirloin, it was tough and chewy and i will never ordered 10oz Rump again

Went out for a family meal 8 of us in total and was totally gobsmacked.
When our food arrived they had forgotten some of the order, OK fair enough we thought anyone can make a mistake. My son had ordered a steak which came out looking a very pale grey and had a strange smell to it almost as if it was freezer burnt, we asked to speak to the manager who insisted that the steak was fresh that morning we then finally agreed to disagree. Halfway through our meal we could see the serving hatch and to our horror we saw some of the staff serving with their fingers scratching their head and biting their fingers then putting food on the plates waiting to be served to customers. The "clean" glasses had thick lipstick on them.
When we complained to the manager again the reply we got was "no they wasn't".
We will never go there again this is just a warning to those of you looking to dine out, Ipswich has a vast number of perfectly good and some very fine dining restaurants, sadly this is far from that.

This place used to be nice. Today we came to a dirty, smelly restaurant. The service was far from great. The only one that was semi decent was our first waitress. We were asked to wait 10 minutes for a table and when finally sat down, we were sat at a draughty table in a room where all the other tables were dirty. The front of house tells me to wait for a table, yet the place was quite empty but in a mess. The food was stale, greasy and even cold. The sundae was small and had lots of cream to make it look bigger. The ice cream came out and the second pudding came 10 mins after. Seriously, is it new management? You can smell the toilet everywhere. It's disgusting.
