Royal |Sutton Coldfield now no more than a northern residential suburb of Birmingham and the park not really a park as such, expanses of heathland, scrub and woodland, with several large natural pools, all very easy to access. For the locals, either an asset to be enjoyed or an obstacle to the town centre and main driving routes. Visitors can get to a wilderness of solitude within a walk of a carpark or stick to paths and trails, beautiful woodland and not so obvious wildlife. Cars are now well restricted, but it is possible to plan a route and walk or bike ride from one side to the other. A site for quite a few annual events, check at town library.

Took the opportune of the good weather to explore the many many acres of Sutton park. You can either stick to the paths or go off piste through the wooded areas. It's such an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and I couldn't recommend a visit any more highly. Nature at its finest.

A fabulous open area with diverse habitats. This is a great resource which offers lots for people who love to the country side without having to travel too far. Much loved.
