“Another great evening and meal in the Country Kitchen”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

My friends and I had another lovely evening in the Country Kitchen. The food was excellent and the service. The Chef did the best vegetarian meal that I've had in a very long time and the vegetables were cooked to perfection.

The Country Kitchen is a relaxed restaurant that has some fantastic early bird deals on most months. It is always worthwhile checking the website for offers. It is a carvery style restaurant with always a vegetarian option. There is also a more formal dining restaurant.

Moor Hall is an excellent venue to relax and enjoy the company of your friends. I would highly recommend it as a welcoming, comfortable hotel.

Well done Moor Hall - keep up the good work!

I knew about this hotel as a relative worked here for 25 years.
The hotel is a mix of old and new rooms,we had an older room.Very comfortable maybe a bit dated but comfy bed, big bathroom, clean and warm.
A bit of an issue with the stairs so if mobility is an problem ask to be put in the wing which has a lift,we will the next time.
The spa looked great we didn't have time to try it out but will do on our next visit.
Breakfast was plentiful and good quality and variety.
Value for money stay...no complaints at all!!

I have stayed at Moor Hall a number of times now, mainly on their Spa Weekend package. For £120- use of the pool/sauna/steam room/jacuzzi/spa and gym- 2 spa treatments- amazing back massage and refreshing facial with amazing and friendly therapists, 3 course dinner in the Oak room, an intimate and luxurious room featuring wood panelled walls- food is from a fixed menu of some top quality produce- I had smoked salmon and crab fritter starter followed by hake and prawns on spinach, followed by a passion fruit tart and Malibu sauce. Delicious food and service is excellent! The wine waiter certainly knows his alcohol! Very well informed. Nothing was too much at dinner- excellent service.
Bar areas are gorgeous and rooms are well equipped- robe and slippers allow you to change into them on arrival and walk around the hotel.
Breakfast was wonderful- choice of cereal and fruit, pastries and a full cooked breakfast buffet style- sausages were very succulent and tasty and the bacon was thick and meaty, fried and scrambled eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, black pudding etc. tea and coffee bought to your table.
Gorgeous grounds- a sunken garden is well worth a nose at.
This was my 5th visit and I would happily return- very friendly and you can do what you like when you like- very relaxed.

Stayed for business, and thoroughly impressed with the facilities, service, and food.

All the staff were polite, and rooms to a very high quality. The free Cadburys chocolate was a nice touch. As was having filter coffee in the room.

Looking forward to my next business stay.

Overall good value. The single room I had was a fair size, very clean, comforable with a nice range of tea/coffee facilities. My bathoom was not large but adequate.
Breakfast, for me anyway was particularly good. Full english and then some!!
Country Kitchen for carvery dinner, ok but not special.Bar menu very good, as are the various lounge facilities.
Swimming pool and other leisure facilities I cannot vouch for, but judging by my collegues enthusiasm it was excellent!
My couple of nights was in February and coincided with the first snow of our winter this year, cosnsequently I was unable to determine the extent of the grounds and golf course available for guests.
If I were in the area again I would certainly stay here, and would hope for better weather to enjoy the grounds and golf course.

room very good. at last a hotel room with a 6' bed which was very comfortable. however the service in the resteraunt - The Oak room was poor and the staff had to apologise for the kitchen not being able to deliver in a timeley manner - this is not the first time that this has happened.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm pleased that your stay overall was good but obviously disappointed in your comments regarding the restaurant. I have taken note of your comments and will investigate the issues to help make future improvements in this area.

I recently organised a Burns Night Celebration for a party of 36 friends at The Moor Hall Hotel.Joanne Newman and the events team looked after my many questions, alteration of rooms, party size, menu everything.Nothing was to much trouble.
On the weekend itself and our arrival at the Hotel we were greeted like Royalty Nigel Preston the Deputy Manager was professionalism itself. We also had a wheelchair bound guest who was looked after immensely well. The food was superb with many of my guests commenting that the haggis was the best that they had ever had.
I couldn't reccomend the Hotel highly enough.Wonderful

Full marks! Thanks! What fantastic feedback! Burns Night is one of our most successful events of the year and, due to its popularity, we may extend it next year to two nights! We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.
