This was our second stay at the Crown and on the positive side the location is excellent, the food good and the staff friendly and helpful. However, the room we were allocated this time (No.12) was nowhere as good as the room (No. 14) we had on our previous stay. The bathroom and view of room 12 leaves a lot to be desired and I think this should be reflected in the price. The only other complaint I had with the Crown is that I'm not a fan of dogs being allowed into restaurants but I would still recommend this hotel as the positives out weigh the negatives.

Room Tip: Ask for room 14

Lovely hotel our room looked out on a back alley behind a takeaway but not too noisy and the hotel is in the town centre. Fairly small but modern nice shower room. Food was fabulous. Lots of nice touches like a large bottle of water in the room. We would definitely stay again.

Have stayed at this hotel several times on business. It's set in the centre of Stamford which is very pretty. All the rooms are different - room 16 has a bathroom as big as the bedroom with a large free standing Victorian bath as well as a shower.
The food is excellent and all sourced locally and the staff are very well informed about the dishes. Breakfast is especially good. The dining room has an old fashioned juke box which is free and which has some great music in it - the volume is not intrusive either.

Free wifi is available in the rooms and is very good - can support streaming of Netflix.

One word of caution, the pub just to the right of the hotel has a late license till about 12:30 / 1:00 am on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday and it is VERY noisy. If you are an early retiree you might wish to make sure of a room on the other side of the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms n the left of the hotel (as viewed from the front) will be quieter

Quaint place to stay. Have stayed here a number of times for business visits and enjoyed each time. The place restaurant has been refurbished of late and looks good. Rooms on the upper level (no elevators so good exercise) are very good and quiet after the bar and courtyard closes for the night. Dinner is a bit pricey but good quality. Breakfast is a good standard accompanied by friendly staff taking your order. Although the manager could smile a bit more and be a little bit more engaging - maybe he was having a bad few days?

Room Tip: Request top level room facing the courtyard. Spacious and appropriately quiet for a good sleep.

If you like Hotels that are individual and stylish then this is for you. The bar/dining area is like a trendy London boutique hotel and the outdoor court yard seating area is delightful. We were made to feel really welcome by the staff even though we had only stayed for one night while visiting friends. Located in the centre of Stamford it's a great place to explore the local area with its untouched local architecture and unique mix of independent shops. Would highly recommend.
