Four ladies of a certain age met up in Colchester for a 3 day re-union and The North Hill Hotel was our base camp. Selection of hotel was made after checking out Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. Two of us shared the mini suite, Room 34, with its king size bed and sofa bed. A lovely light room overlooking the courtyard at the rear of the main building.
The restaurant was doing a roaring trade with Sunday lunches on our arrival and we all enjoyed dinner there that evening. Good menu and reasonable prices.
Access to the Hotel rooms is via the restaurant frontage which is a little confusing. There are various changes in floor level from the main building, through the courtyard area and to rear accommodation so anyone having walking difficulties needs to take care and certainly did not appear to be wheelchair friendly.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and this was a good base from which to check out the delights of Colchester. Would certainly use if in that area again.
