Picked this as a quick break , know nothing of the area only that it's in our 60/70 mile radius that we like to stick to , as soon as we pulled up we could hear shouting , there was a group of drunken youths kicking off with each other , turns out the pub was having a royal wedding party and the beer was £1 pint .
As we sat trying to chill we heard shouting but seemed to die down around 5 o'clock , we went down for something to eat as the cafe's open until 7 o'clock , I had the African beef stew quite nice , my wife had a huge Gammon and egg with chips , meals were around about £8 each , we were talking to the owner who told us the pub across road was under new management and had warnings from police over roudyness .
Found out there was a match on TV and the pub were screening it , thought here we go more trouble , we watched a film on TV and turned in around 11.30 , I heard shouting but went back to sleep at around 1.30 am , my wife told me that a group of kids were near a boarded up pub across the street when she looked out the window a police car and van arrived to move them on .
My wife was put off from making a return visit but I didn't mind the place as it genuinely a nice place to stay but she's easily put off , we were asurred this was not a regular event .

Absolutely spotless, comfortable room and ensuite facilities at first floor level above the cafe, which provides an excellent cooked to order breakfast.
So many unexpected finishing touches.
The only downside was the road noise, but our oft used earplugs sorted that out.

Wished we had more than one night. Our host John was the best. Our room lovely and tea service out and set so nicely. Large bath also. Everything clean and sparkling. Breakfast was extra special as everything was homemade by John himself. Overnight guests are seated at special tables set ever so well. Hope someday to come back.

Room Tip: Darling little town.

Located nearby the motorway, you stop for some rest in a quite, clean, all you need in the room, little B&B. That's all you are expecting, great place. The other good thing.. A nice English breakfast.
