“Peaceful beautiful place”
Reviewed June 19, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We have visited this area over many years and love it. This cabin is in an idyllic location but handy for Dunoon for shopping. Very well appointed and comfortable.we also like to visit other small places in the area. Stephen is the perfect host on hand when needed but not looking over your shoulder.

“Cosy well-appointed cabin”
Reviewed May 9, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Very nice little two-bed cabin in a woodland setting. The cabin has a really warm, cosy feel to it and is well located for exploring the local area. Inveraray is about a 30 min drive and is well worth a visit for the castle and jail.

The cabin itself is very well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The only complaint we had was that the internet service was very hit and miss. This wouldn't normally be a problem as half the attraction of staying in places like this is 'unplugging'. However the TV/movies service also relied on the internet connection as there was no terrestrial service, so if you fancy winding down with a film after a full day out you might be disappointed as ours suffered almost constant buffering issues every night. A small selection of DVDs are provided, or you could take a few of your own as an alternative. Personally I'd be happy to pay a bit more for a stronger/faster internet service.

That aside, it's a cracking place to stay at a good price and I'd definitely consider a return visit.

Make sure you do the Puck's Glen walk behind the cabins, very mystical feel to the place. Honestly, it's like something out of Lord of the Rings!

Thanks for your lovely review. We really appreciate it. We have found that internet buffering happens due to too many devices being used at once, so we will mention this to future guests in our welcome information. The cabin is distant from the exchange, so internet is not as good as in the city or town. Many thanks

“Fantastic few days away with the family - can't wait to go again”
Reviewed November 28, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

The lodge is in a beautiful location - red squirrels on the doorstep (or at least in the wood next door) and saw seals in the loch nearby. It is well equipped - nice to have a self catering lodge with all the equipment to actually feed a family. There is a lovely feel to it, the owners clearly take a lot of care over making extra special touches, like the little basket of Scottish goods and the starter pack for dishwashing. We were cosy and warm, even with frost outside so thick it looked like snow. Just a perfect break away from it all.

“Lovely location, Lodge needing refurb”

Enjoyed the location, amazing walks, definatley a place to go to chill out. Sadly the water pressure wasnt good,( to be addressed sometime in the future), Shower didnt work, bath has no rail and my 72 old hubby couldnt get out, even with assistance was tricky and unsafe, Kitchen equipment was very poor, ok if having carry outs, The rail on the front porch is unsafe as are the steps should someone trip. We did enjoy the area though. The entrance to the site is not very well singposted and we had to retrace our steps to find it.

“nice chill out break”
Reviewed October 3, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Summer lodge very nice and enjoyed walking in pucks glen. We just love the scenery round dunoon and loch eck. Were made very welcome in the coylet inn just along the road but were not impressed with the whistle field inn which was our favorite a few years ago.very comfy sofas at summer lodge and the bed was comfy too.we liked having the outside table and chairs to sit on the veranda. All was clean and well equipped including a dishwasher.
