We booked here based on the countless good reviews here on TA and we were overjoyed that we did!
The perfect location for visits to Hay-On-Wye, near enough to walk into town, but far enough outside to be among the rolling green hills of the surrounding area and views of the river Wye outside our bedroom window.
The room's were spotless, we slept like a dream, the breakfasts were magnificent (including the mystery marmalades! You have to stay to find out!)
Steve and Dawn make the place feel immediately homely and cosy. On our 2nd night we had planned to go out after dinner for drinks but decided to head back to the B&B as it was so comfortable to be there.
For our day of walking Steve gave us the lay of the land and the best places to head for some great pathways in the Black Mountains.
Overall, couldn't have been happier and would highly recommend The Start as the place to stay in the Hay area. We for sure, will be back!
