Just returned from a great weekend of walking, drinking and eating at the Jug and Glass. There isn't much to see of this small pub from the outside, apart from its stunning location. But it scores top marks for welcome, food, drink and value for money. Above all, Stuart and his team are natural hosts. Thanks for your hard work and I'll hope to come back soon.

Beautiful wild location perfect for walkers. Amazing views. Stuart is a great host and made us really welcome and at home. Great selection of well kept local ales and fab breakfasts too. Thank you very much!

If you are seeking a very comfortable inn a short distance from the hustle and bustle of nearby Derbyshire towns then the Jug and Glass on the A515 about 2 miles from Hartington is for you. A warm welcome from mine hosts Stuart and Gwen awaits you. Relax in the warm comfort of their bar and dining room before taking residence in one of their very well appointed and comfortable rooms. Cleanliness throughout the inn is assured and Gwen's excellent range of home cooked food is delicious. A choice of up to three very well kept real ales are available in the well stocked bar. The only downside is that, eventually, you'll need to leave to return to real life back at home.

Room Tip: Rooms for disabled persons are available on the ground floor. All rooms are very well equipped and most comfortable.

Having walked around the River Wye, both myself and my partner had worked up an appetite.

We were greeted by both the Landlord and Landlady very approachable and naturally friendly.

From the board menu you could either choose from; pork, beef or lamb. My partner had the beef and I had the lamb. Our meals were expectionally delicious, but we were both to full to attempt pudding. Though I must mention there is a wide selection to choose from. Hoping to come back very soon.

It was our second stay at the Jug and glass after having a busy few days at my brothers wedding. We had a wonderful stay! Stuart and Gwen could not have been more accomodating to our needs. Deliciously simple local food; the lamb shank and Bakewell tart were exceptional. Cosy and comfortable rooms with more amenities than I would normally expect at at pub b&b. We loved the slippers and super soft towels as well the stunning views of the countryside from every window. We will be back! Thank you so much x
