We stayed in the campsite on bank holiday weekend. It was a small and quite informal site within a nice distance from Buxton and in close proximity to some good PRoWs and lovely countryside. Pitches are within woodland which gave some shelter from the awful weather! The chap running the site was friendly and helpful and generally the site was in good condition. The loo and shower facilities were clean but small although they could do with some sort of way marker lighting. We were in a big group and generally would have tried to have been a bit out of the way as not to disturb others but it wasn’t really an option.

Stayed in the new glamping tents and they were absolutely fantastic.
They had thought of everything- double bed, set of drawers, table and chairs, little kitchen, outside table and BBQ area, electric hook-up. The site is lovely too and our little ones (4, 5, 7yrs) were quite happy playing on the swings and wooden bridge.
There is a lovely farm where you can access for free between 4-5pm. We’ve now been to Staden 3 times and we’ll keep going back.

You have to drive through an industrial estate and then through a (pretty) campsite to arrive at the Staden Grange. Also the car park was quite littered and the net curtains in the main building were all over the place! To reach the reception desk you had to walk through a porch way full of cardboard boxes...all this bodes not so well for fussy old me!! (First impressions etc.!)
However, the room was fine, and I had an excellent night's sleep! Little touches were nice - slippers in the wardrobe, plenty of bits and pieces in the bathroom and biscuits on the tea tray. Good wifi and a really helpful (Basil Fawlty type!) host....who directed us to one of Derbyshire's best pubs for supper (The Church Inn).
Breakfast fab and views amazing...also an immaculate little petting centre on site!

I'm torn between 3/4 stars. The booking process was easy. CS was really good. The setting was really nice. There were some inappropriate campers but not the sites problem.
My issues:
Poorly stocked shop so had to travel for resources.
Clean facilities but here lies my main issue. There may have been best part of 100 people staying on site with only 2 showers and toilets per sexes.
Overall though it was a lovely site but lack of facilities kinda put us off.
