Took this little concerted milk truck tour at the suggestion of our gues hour owner. Well worth it. Michael was full of information and we made lots of stops along the way. One at a beautiful little church that is not open to the public during the week. It’s a great tour. We learned so much about the history of Buxton.

At first my wife and I wondered if we would enjoy a tour with only eight people being able to board the converted milk float for the tour, but we need not have worried. It was an excellent experience and very informative. Our driver, Michael, clearly knew all about the town and had done research and displayed pictures on the screen in the bus. We visited the huge Devonshire Dome, now part of the University of Derby campus. Michael came inside with us and explained the history as he did with St. Anne’s Church.
The tour can be recommended very highly and my wife said she thought it wa probably the best tour we have done. I could not disagree.

Was in for a bit of a surprise thought it was going to just take us on a ride around Buxton but it was so much more, we stopped at a beautiful little church (which I never knew about although have been to Buxton several times) the Dome with it's whispering Gallery and many more places and the guide was both knowledgeable and full of humour, enjoyed it very much.

Our trip on this Victorian tram ( converted from a milk float) was informative and fun. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we stopped at the Dome which was amazing and also at St Anne's church in Higher Buxton.
I would definitely recommend this tour.

The converted milk float is an experience not to be missed, it may not be the fastest but it gives you plenty of time to take in the sites.

Wonderful guide! The lady was dressed as Vera Brittain and told her story as though she were looking back 130 years to when she was a nurse for 3 months in the Dome in Buxton, looking after casualties of the First World War. We were taken around the Dome to various points in her story and shown the 'whispering centre' of the dome where if you speak or clap it echoes. The talk was like a little bit of theatre and extremely well done. She put some humour into the talk too and it was also very moving when she talked about her brother and fiance being killed in the war. She also talked about the Women's Suffrage movement which was very interesting. We saw this as part of the free Heritage Weekend, but we would thoroughly recommend this for the very reasonable price that the tour costs normally.

Superb guide! The lady dressed up just like Mary Queen Of Scott’s and kept in role the whole time. Talk took place inside the wonderful Old Hall Hotel where Mary was imprisioned and we actually saw her bedroom! Even had Tea and “ Mary” cake afterward .....you pay extra for this but is yummy ! Knowledgeable, funny, interesting and made alive by seeing the tower she was imprisoned in and her messages on the glasss windows. Loved it ....... I’d ber her lady- in - waiting any day !

We took this tour yesterday, a wet Thursday, but our damp spirits were soon lifted by Mike our driver and guide. Traversing slowly around the town, stopping at and going into some of it's highlights was a perfect introduction to Buxton.
On the phone booking line, Netta was helpful and informative, guiding us through a workable sequence for a day in Buxton.
