We continue to return to Uplands House as Poppy Cooksey makes one so very welcome and provides Michelin starred menus, The is the Wolsley Lodge to visit for an introduction to the Wolsley Lodge experience.

Another fabulous stay with Poppy and Graham, who are wonderful hosts. Poppy never ceases to delight - she is such a generous and vivacious lady. Can't recommend Uplands house enough. Poppy's cooking is lovely, so do eat dinner there if you can. The rooms are spacious and sumptuously decorated in eclectic and tasteful style. It's also about 25 mins from Stratford - so perfect for the theatre. We've already booked to go back again in September!

The warm welcome to Uplands House begins a magical stay in this quintessentially English home, full of beautiful furniture, pictures and family photographs, creating an intimate atmosphere. It is a home rather than a hotel - and welcomes the visitor as such.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden and guests sit out for their meals overlooking the peaceful rose garden as they are provided with wonderful food by their hosts Poppy and Graham, who welcome their visitors with a genuine warmth and wish to create the perfect stay.

I believe the real value of travelling exists in how different people I can get to know and what kind of conversation I can enjoy with them. It is much more valuable than just a sight-seeing in many places. The Uplands House was not only a B&B but the place that gave me lovely travel experience.

The owners, Poppy (Lady Cooksey) and her husband Graham, both Olympic fencing experts, have a great pleasure to give guests the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy conversation exchanging their ideas, thoughts and experiences, and the owner couple their selves also enjoy it. Off course, they are willing to give guests very helpful suggestions about visits.

They are busy in welcoming guests, cooking, managing the house, taking care of gardens, but they find time to play a fencing match and tennis.

Poppy invited me and my wife to walk around her kitchen garden to pick up some fresh materials for dinner, and enjoyed together her-herself-cooked dishes and pre & post drinks.

Uplands House has only 3 luxurious bedrooms. Mine was beautifully decorated “The Four Poster Room” facing to rose garden and green field. In the spacious room there are comfortable four poster bed and day bed as well, with splendid view over the parkland even from bath tub lying in.

The Uplands House is all about "Lady Poppy". She is in charge of your stay and makes it delightful. The accommodations are comfortable and although place is a bit cluttered. The nature and history of the clutter including "Poppy's" many fencing medals lends a fascinating aspect to the stay.

Room Tip: Ask Poppy to help introduce you to local pubs and attractions.
