“Party time at the Ashford International”

We checked in on a Sunday afternoon. Seems there’d been a big party the night before, and the people in our suite hadn’t checked out. They’d gone out for the day, leaving their belongings in the room and we were told that, by law, the hotel could not prepare the room for us all the time the occupants’ belongings were in there. So we were given a cup of tea on the house and had to wait.
The corridor en route to the room was littered with empty champagne and wine bottles, glasses and balloons and the 20 minutes that housekeeping had had to clean the suite was clearly not long enough. The glass panels in the connecting doors were covered in a sticky spray, the telephone was sticky and the cord all tangled, the shower door was streaked and the basin surround had toothpaste marks on it. The bed side cabinets were marked and the lampshades were dusty. Immediately, housekeeping sorted this out and we were given a box of chocolates, but after travelling all day it would have been nice to have been able to go to our room straight away and to relax. We asked that the room be thoroughly cleaned the following day and there was a noticeable improvement.
Very good service throughout the hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Good dinners in the restaurant on both evenings, although the breakfasts were not particularly special – coffee that tasted of nothing and cold eggs. Had an excellent facial in the spa and enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
Be warned, though, mobile phone reception (in our room, anyway) for both Orange and Virgin is terrible and wi-fi very patchy. This was disappointing as we needed both.
So although these practicalities were poor, as far as the service was concerned nothing was too much trouble which speaks for a lot.

went with 3 friends for a weekend spa break last weekend 10/11 march, booked with spabreaks.com. Unfortunately there was a mix up between the company we booked through and the hotel plus a therapist was unwell which meant that we didn't get the full treatments we had booked, however the hotel did their best to make our stay enjoyable. thanks to the Duty Manager Miles we agreed a compromise and will be returning later in the year. Food in restaurant excellent. Beds in bedrooms very uncomfortable and all 4 of us had backache after sleeping in them. Shopping at nearby outlet mall great fun if you love shopping!!

All the hotels beds are Sealy beds and I’m sorry you found them uncomfortable. You are quite right about the shopping at McArthur Glen Designer Outlet - it’s great fun and guests at Ashford International Hotel benefit from an additional 10% discount at participating stores! stayed one night attending a function.no problems at all well equipped room,breakfast very nice ,cannot comment on dinner served to guests but if it is the same quality as served at our function was excellent.all staff very pleasent an helpful

Stayed once again for a masonic ladies festival as have done in numerous past years. Once again the hotel and staff are truly professional and I would expect nothing less, but, there appears to have been a sharp increase in the price of drinks and food. Care needs to be taken so as not to price itself out of the market, or is that pretentious ambition?

Room Tip: Upgrade if possible.

Just stayed here for the weekend, was a lovely clean, well managed hotel. Would definitely stay there again. The staff come across as happy, efficient and helpfull which is so important, and makes a real difference to your stay - well done!

I went to Ashford International Hotel for a spa break with my boyfriend for his birthday.
The hotel service are very good,staffs are helpful, room is modern and tidy.
However, the spa facilities are okay, not very impressive, a standard gym level. Jacuzzi is a bit small.
Overall, we had a good birthday break!

Stayed for 1 night bed and breakfast and can't fault the hotel.
We got our room ahead of the usual check-in time, which is always a bonus. Our room was well furnished with all mod cons including 2 comfy chairs and table, a very comfortable bed and a wonderful bathroom which was very modern and very well presented.
We didn't have the evening meal there but breakfast was a self-service buffet and was fantastic. Plenty of choice, well presented and very friendly staff.
We will certainly come back to this hotel if we need to stay again in Ashford, if only for the breakfast!
