After reading the negative reviews, we wasn’t sure what to expect. However we had a truly wonderful afternoon with our two 5 year olds, the admission was £12 for a family of 4 - such great value. In terms of the parking, you just buy a ticket and put it on your window screen and return before the 4 hours. It’s no bother, also you get £2 of the £3 you spent back at the counter. The butterflies are lovely, it would be good to have perhaps challenges to see which ones you can find or perhaps someone giving a talk or something inside. Warning to all - it is 30 degrees so no need for jumpers.

Visited on a quiet winter Sunday as an idea of something to do with the kids. Parked up in the empty car park, and noticed pay and display parking. I wondered why you would have to pay and display to park here, the "attraction" is the only reason you would park here anyway, especially on a Sunday with nobody around.

The instructions are very unclear, there is a small parking concession as a visitor of the "Zoo" although had to wait to speak to someone to see how it works, got some change and then booked four hours as went across the road for something to eat.

Like many others, it seems I was greeted with £100.00 fine for overstaying by 28minutes. The carpark crooks clock you going in and going out with no allowance for time to get a ticket etc.

I thought you could do the whole attraction in about half an hour extremely overpriced anyway and the unfair parking charge was the cherry on the cake.

I don't know how this place can be associated with these people and really don't know how they sleep at night trapping and robbing the public.

Would not recomend to my worst enemy - AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!

A bit smaller than I remember and although going around several times we didn’t stay an hour. The children get magnifying glasses to study to butterflies. It was perhaps a little busier than usual as it was half term week but my children had to share a magnifying glass which was a bit of a shame and caused a few arguments. You now have to pay for parking which is new since we last visited which is a bit of a shame, you can get some of it refunded when you buy your entrance ticket, but not the whole amount.

We were hugely shocked & disappointed at our 11 minute “experience” at the butterfly zoo.

Having arrived at 3:03pm to visit with our family of 5 for half term excursion to be informed, rather bluntly that last admissions were at 3pm and we were refused entry.

For the sake of 3 minutes I would have thought a conservation zoo of this nature would of welcomed the opportunity to take our £15... but obviously they don’t need it!

Upon trying to discuss with a senior member of staff we were again told in no uncertain terms that we were unable to enter & were turned away.

To add further insult, we’ve now also received one of these £100 parking charges for the 11 minutes spent in the unclearly marked car park, whilst being refused entry to this so called attraction.

What an absolute joke, despite being a local who would’ve regularly visited this “attraction” I guess I’ll join the numerous others by the looks of this review page in never taking our young family of 5 to this or any other of these attractions ever again...
Perhaps the owners will soon realise that this customer service is not good for business!
