Friendly manageress/owner, Room sweet with spiders as room mates, but for a one night stay it was fine. Good value and well located, Breakfast not included, and needs to be ordered the evening before as I found out, maybe its in the small print and I just didn't see it, but no brekkie for me...Sainsburys café it was....

I don't usually bother with reviews but in this case I think the hotel merits a thumbs-up. This is a quiet unpretentious place, ideal in our case, for a group of walkers (9 people).
Pleasant hosts, nice bar with good beer and cider, excellent food and clean, tidy bedrooms. Plus terrific walking country from the doorstep. A great weekend.

This is a perfectly acceptable low budget B&B. Very comfortable room, terrific breakfast, lovely staff, and the restaurant area is very nicely decorated. The rest of the property is a bit tired. Could use a lick of paint here and there, and new stair carpets. But as long as you're realistic about these things, and don't expect too much, it's generally perfectly acceptable for a short stop-over and very good value. We would go back.

Room Tip: Room 6, the Chepstow Room, is a bit dark, has a tiny window and no view.

This is a well organised and comfortable hotel. The staff make every effort to make guests welcome. There is a good bar and the restaurant is excellent with an interesting and varied menu. The breakfasts were very good and very efficiently produced and served considering we were quite a large party of eleven.

A hotel in general need of improvement and investment, it's shabby and worn out. Our room was superficially clean but there was a stain on the bed-cover, stains on the dressing table stool, and the remains of a dead insect by the door latch; obviously the cleaner missed that one. The shower was too hot to stand under even though the thermostat was adjusted to its coolest position. The room was small and the bar shuts at 11.00pm. One of the electric sockets was not working. It's also a 15 to 20 minute walk to Ross centre and if, as it was on our visit, it's raining, you need to take a taxi. I wouldn't come back here if you paid me, it doesn't fit any criteria that you would wish to fulfil for a single night let alone a weekend break or longer.

Room Tip: Carry on to the next hotel!

This hotel never fails to impress us,not the most modern hotel granted, but the food is second to none as is the warm welcome we always receive

I would recommend this hotel to everyone (just make sure there is always a room for us)

Room Tip: Room 2 is beautiful
