Visited the hotel for friend's birthday celebrations and stayed for a few more days to explore the area. The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment and the change from the "old" to the "new" is most apparent in the public rooms where smart modern décor is starting to appear. The newly refurbished dining rooms with sea views is bound to be a hit with diners.
My bedroom overlooked the main road rather than the sea but I wasn't in the room long enough for that to bother me. Free WiFi, good hot drink provisions, a very comfortable bed and a "Goldilocks" duvet that was just the right weight. The shower was a bit miserable and I was glad of the wall heater for a bit of a temperature boost in the bathroom when showering.
Others have commented on the friendly staff, the fact that there are tablecloths rather than wipe down table tops, the generous breakfasts which are included in the room rate so I will add to this list the very efficient lift that saves weary legs and the generous car park, plus the community spirit that I noted from signs at the Reception desk, oh and the food which looks and tastes as though it was made by chefs in the kitchen rather than a factory supplying ready meals!More
