“Perfect place for a relaxing stay.”

A fully equipped cottage at great peaceful location. Lot of places to walk-around. You can also find good restaurant in Stainland which is not very far from this place.

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed March 15, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

I would like to say how pleasant my stay at the cottage was
The cottage was excellent and was off high standard and had everything you need for a short stay away
I will be booking again in the future

“2nd time of staying and fantastic yet again”
Reviewed December 30, 2017 for a stay in December 2017

Yey again clean, warm, well equipped and in beautiful surroundings.
We stayed just after xmas and a tree was up . . . On arrival it was lovely and warm. . . Feel very relaxed staying there.
And then when it snowed the neighours (sally and her adult sons) helped us get the car up the lane. . . They very much went above and beyond so thank you so much.
Me, my partner and 4 year old twins love staying here and will do so again.

“Lovely long weekend accomodation”
Reviewed August 29, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We stayed for 3 nights over the August Bank holiday. The Barn has been really well finished and fitted out, leading to a really comfortable, relaxing stay. Although not huge, the space was more than enough for a family with 2 teenagers to stretch out in for the weekend. Beds and bathrooms were much better than the usual rental standards-theres been some real care taken with the set up.

We ate locally at the Sportsman (5mins walk) and the Fleece (5 min drive). Both good. And the main reason for the stay-to visit York for the touristy usuals was really easily accomplished. About 45 mins drive to Ashkam Bar park and ride, and 10 mins from there on the bendy bus. Cheaper and far easier than parking closer in.

Thanks Gethin for the stay-I have no problem recommending the Barn to others.

“lovely secluded location,”
Reviewed August 12, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Very well appointed, modern Barn Conversion. Everything that we needed was there, even down to a hair dryer for the wife. Short walk along a private road to the Sportsman Pub, that had a friendly atmosphere and a good menu, well worth a visit. We used it as a base to see the various places that we were all interested in. National Railway Collection at York, Lake District and the sights of Blackpool. With the motorways all within easy driving distance. Would recommend The Barn, without hesitation and will book again. Thanks to the owner, Gethin, for a fantastic, easy going holiday.

“Clean, beautiful and perfect size”
Reviewed June 26, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Would most definitely stay again.
Accommodation was clean, spacious, lovely decor and had everything we needed as a family of 4 (3 year old twins and it was suitably safe for them). Owners lovely too . .available if needed but left us alone to get on with it (appropriately) too.
Off the beaten track but local pub also fantastic.
Lots to do in the area (was visiting family and out doing activities all the time).
Great value for money in our opinion.
