“About time we went there”

We have been going to great Yarmouth for years and have never considered going to the time and tide museum and how wrong were we. It was very interesting and the staff were more than helpful. The hole place is very well layed out and easily accessible for wheelchairs with lifts and ramps etc.
We were given an audio commentary which I recommend you take if offered. The price was reasonable and there is somewhere to eat and drink and sit and chat. We went out of season and it was quite quiet, I can imagine it could get rather busy around holiday times but don't let that put you off.
Something for the whole family

This is such an amazing museum with a reconstruction of one of the "rows"...as the narrow lanes which were the backbone of the herring industry...are called.

“Fascinating couple of hours”

Excellent museum giving a real insight into Great Yarmouth's wold famous-->defunct herring fishing industry. Sited in an old herring processing/smoking building, where one can still smell the smoke, with a decent cafe attached. We couldn't get over the harsh way of life and working practices which were the norm, and not so long ago.
