Description: Harry Ramsden's serve the same great quality fish and chips today that they have been since 1928. The brand was established 80 years ago, when Harry Ramsden opened his first takeaway store in a hut in Guiseley. His top-quality fish and chips brought people from near and far and it wasn't long before Harry's became the most famous fish and chip shop brand in the world. The fish is freshly prepared in Harry's kitchens daily and has that distinctive flavour revered the world over. The menu includes the world-famous battered fish with its closely guarded secret recipe, as well as an extensive choice of mouth-watering options and a fantastic children's menu, to satisfy all the family. There are 13 Harry's restaurants across the United Kingdom, from seaside locations such as Blackpool and Bournemouth to high street restaurants and Southampton city centres, so you're never far from a Harry's.

We visited on Easter Sunday for lunch.

The restaurant wasn’t busy and we were seated with menus straight away with an offer of someone being with us to take our order shortly.

Well a good 10 minutes later no one had attempted to take our order despite the signal of the menu being placed on the table. There isn’t that much to choose from in a fish’n’chip restaurant!

After being ignored for a further few minutes while a young man messed around with balloons on sticks we had had enough and left.

So can’t comment on the food but the service on a non-busy lunchtime was appalling.

The waiting staff were very good, especially in relation to dietary requirements. Nothing seemed to much bother and our waiter, in particular, was clearly well versed on such issues.

When my fish and chips arrived I initially thought it was slightly small for a large portion, especially in terms of the number of chips. However, as it turned out I couldn’t have eaten much more.

This is the second time I’ve eaten here and each time I’ve sat by the window which really makes it a lovely ‘experience’. Road trains and horses pulling carts pass on a regular basis.

There are steep stairs here so if you have mobility difficulties I’d recommend you phone ahead and request a table on the ground floor. That said, the toilets are on the lower floor- I’m not sure if there are more accessible facilities available.

Food was lovely. I’d be happy to return. Especially if the service remains at the same high standard.

A good meal but over priced compaired with the numerous fish and chip shops nearer to the centre of the sea front.
Parking near by but some car parks are expensive so check before you park

Went in with family had to ask if actually opened... Place was dark no signs outside.
Was told it was open! Sat down and ordered drinks while looking at menu.. Coffee came in a small cup and was over £2.00! Which I has drank as it was only warm and gone before food arrived. Ordered another.. Expensive.
Ordered three fish and chips and one chips and curry. Fish was lovely and fresh, light and flaky, chips was nice but not many even though they offered free refills at the beginning we were charged £1.99!
Kids had coke/cola /Pepsi which was flat, tastless and tasted funny.
Toilet downstairs which is fine but look rather tired looking, could do with a fresh up.
Staff friendly.
Bill was nearly £50.00 which was very expensive for what we had.
But we paid up and left. Only other table being used.
Not what we expected from HR. As been in other restaurants and better food and premises.

We all love fish and chips after a walk on the beach, and when you are looking forward to it, it’s a real disappointment when it fails to match expectations. Fish was very mediocre and not at all pleasant and there seemed to be a ration in the number of chips they were dishing out. Hardly any. Not good value for money and won’t be going back.
